Would it be possible to program a waypoint tool that would create waypoints for a formation of ships. The Ships would follow the waypoints with out breaking formation. The formations would be able to turn and everything like that.

I don't think it does, you can select a group of ships but the ships don't maintain that formation. the Ship converge on the first waypoint. not maintaining their distance from one another.

put the ships in a wing and tell the leader to folow the waypoint

oh ok. But can we increase the the wings size. the limit is at 6 right now.

They crash in to each other quite enough as is it...

I believe "low" is standard value.

I believe wing sizes above 6 would require new interface art, so that's unlikely to happen. You can order all the ships you want to fly in formation to guard the formation leader, then just have that ship fly your waypoints, and the rest will follow.

:wtf: Why new interface art? HUD art:D
We could always limit Alpha, Beta and Gamma to four players, Delta and Epsilon to six, and anything else can be higher.

Well we could have wings of more than six for wings that are not going to on the display. Such as a group of capships.

What's more important is geting rid of the wing name prerequisits - we've proven that the player can happily fly in Alpha, Beta or Gamma wing but anything else and the ship selection, weapon selection and wing monitor screws up... very annoying.

What's so hard about making a number of waypoint for your ships in formation. Hold on, I am making a mission at the moment in which I do just this. I shall upload it and you shall see.

could you have wings for sentry guns, i hate numberin them, especially with 20...

Try it. I never have, so I wouldn't know.
And it's all done with syringes, doughnut wise.
