I was only speaking from my personal experience mind.
:)
-
Ow yeah... 2 x 78 gig HD
-
I hate you...
(you can take that as a compliment if you like)
-
And how much did that cost you then?
-
You girl, suck. :p Who let you have a better computer than me.
I'm gonna go into that corner over there, and be zealous for a while

'bout $1450,-

:eek2:
My rig was about $1500 and the processor and HDD came nowhere near what you have, even though I have a better VRAM card.
I'm moving to Netherlands. Evacuate all mothers and children, cuz I'm coming, and this time, there's no stopping me.
-
Well, its one of these costumized rigs from a small computer specialized store. I started out with a 1.8 Ghz, 256 Mhz, ATi Radeon 7000 60 Gigs at $1000. Costumized it into what I have and voila :D
Gotta love these non-big ass stores.
-
*shrugs*
My old 800 mHz still serves me just fine for my games and 3d stuff ;)
-
right the graphics card doesnt fit in exactly :D
-
Pretty good. The only thing that seems a bit out of date is the video card, but the total price is excellent.
-
9000? Thats the next step down from a 9700, which is top of the line. Thats a damn good price...
-
hmm I thought the 9500 was the next one down? (could be wrong though since I haven't been following this stuff a lot lately)
-
r9000, r9000pro, r9500, r9500pro, r9700 , r9700pro
thats the list
-
Damn you all!
I have the following machine, and I am proud of it!
Cyrix(yes CYRIX!) 133
32meg SIMMS!
1.58 gig HD
8meg SiS vid card
Crappy £10 sound card
Decrepit old monitor that turns pink a lot
BWAHAHA.

i must admit that you are the first girl I met that has so much interest in PC. I would bet that you spend even more time on PCs in generally than I do. :shaking: :nervous:
-
Hmm, tis probably true. You do seem to go against the grain a bit, Tiara.
Good for you!
-
Power to the AMD 1.3! Well 3ghz would be nice, but i like my system as it is - it all runs nice and smoothly.
Plus i'd have to get rid of my case mods...
that reminds me.
I'll make a new thread.
-
By the way speaking of graphic cards, it seems that my mom needs for her presentation a video card with a TV in and I suggested a Radeon 9500 with 128MB. ;7
That card has a TV in right? By the way, anyone remembers a price on it?
-
Pfff. I could upgrade my ****ty-ass, 5 year old rig to better than that for like $700. Of course, I'm poor, so........
The major costs come in when you need a new monitor, but fortunately, I've got a 19"....or is it 20", I forget.
Anyway, how'd you manage a double T3? Those things are waaay expensive unless you live like right next-door to yer local backbone station.

Uh, right, they don't exist. Sure you mean 3,06GHz Intel Pentium 4? :p
-
Actually, yes they do :)

Pwned :thepimp:

Don't Pentium have a 4.7 almost ready?
And, through the miracle of multi-processor set-ups, you can have MUCH greater hertzage.
-
I just bought it so I can go on a few years. In 2 years this will be a piece o'junk compared to the THz we'll have then :p
-
If you are a PC upgrade freak then it is a piece of junk 6 months later. I used my 450MHz 128MB ram Geforce256 32MB for 2,5 years and even played JK2 on it both in SP and MP. Of course there were slow downs but I could play of course. i have a new PC now but I think I should add more RAM to it.

I don't know of a R9500 with TV in.
Cards with TV in and TV out are often called ViVos. Look for cards with this in the name. ;)
R9700 All-In-Wonder, for instance.
As for Tiara's new system: Very Nice! :)
The videocard's the bottleneck. That's the one component I would have changed.
-
I looked on the box and it does have TV-in/out.
And Razor, I'm planning to use this comp for at least a few years.
-
I've been doing some searching and I think that this looks pretty good.:

I suppose this (http://www.pcutstyr.no/index.php?vareid=11131&PHPSESSID=aea04cd73db3d52740c40817857759ce) is what you have.
-
A few years? I'm predicting you'll have to go for a VRAM upgrade soone enough

I didn't say I would "update" stuff :p It will just be a while till I buy a completely new computer.
-
ah, screw it.
as for Razor, I must agree. Tiara must be the only girl who doesn't think that a Geforce is a shaving tool.

VRAM is video random access memory, and you can't upgrade that. :p You must upgrade the video card if you want more VRAM.

Nope. It's model 3000+ (Barton), which actually runs at 2166MHz. Model 2600+ (Thoroughbred "B") runs at 2133MHz, and 2400+ (TBred "B") 2000MHz. The reason why it isn't like 2300MHz is that it has newer architecture, and is faster even with slower clockspeed than older processor. The 3000+ means that it is about as fast as 3GHz Pentium 4, though those model numbers aren't perfectly accurate, they're still pretty good, even if they make many people think that it's the MHz number (well, that's the point in the model numbers :p).
