The only other thread dealing with this one only got two replies and neither of them were substantial. So, is it possible to change the in-game font or replace it with a different one?
-
no
-
Quite agree.
However, there may be some way using the source code, but they have too much on their plate already.

Mmm... Sourcecode...
Too bad, this would be great for shivan transmissions, or mods.

Meh, just use a lot of £%*^*£!*^(*^$ ness.
-
hmm... it'd be nice (but not really necessary) to have umlauts tho...
like åäö...

Or use 1337. Play through Deus Ex Machina, you'll see.
Oh, wait, you probably wouldn't get any of the jokes... never mind.

Would be nice if you could use the Symbol font to send math proofs to the player while fighting... ;7 :D
-
no.
no. it wouldn't.

hmm... yeah.
that way they might commit suicide or something... ;)

multiplayer is no place for geometry...
-
Geometry has a place everywhere.
-
not while your trying to kill someone...:nervous:
-
Ballistics, my fine freind, Ballistics.
-
Okay, so you can type up a proof to explain to the enemy pilot, in detail, the precise trajectory the plasma bots he is firing into your exhaust port will take, and the rapid linear progression at which your hit points will go down because you're too busy dividing the cosine of pi to actually maneuver or shoot or anything.
-
its easier than that, just target, aim, shoot
-
Fire your shots somewhere in the general direction of the red circle in front of the enemy ship.
-
That's all very well, but when you are very, very tired, the sun is shining off your monitor, and the joystick is playing up (when isn't it), this is damn near impossible.

Yes. It might be changeable by the FONTTOOL (in the source code published by Volition,Inc.). Someone compiled the tool for me, but it hasn't worked on my computer.
Try it here:
http://fs2source.warpcore.org/fonttool.exe (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/fonttool.exe)
It requires file FontTool.pcx which is included in the source code (http://www.freespace-2.com/ddn/sources/freespace2/). The file must be in code/Fonttool directory within your main Freespace 2 directory.
See Hard Light Production Forums > Freespace > The Source Code Project > Fonttool.
