Title: ModelView
Post by: Galemp on March 13, 2003, 12:47:54 pm
The Modelview source has been released; is anyone playing with it, trying to add functionality for thrusters, eyepoints, dockpoints and paths? 'Twould be very nice...

But actually, I've got a problem. I have a model in progress that is fine in TrueSpace, PCS, FRED and Freespace 2. But ModelView won't open it saying it has too many bounding boxes.

Is there something I did wrong? Or since only ModelView complains, is it a bug in there to be fixed?

On a side note, I can't POF edit the shielded Lucifer, even though support has been added for it.

replace the normal exe with this. all it does is bump the limits, but, it works :) (i think)

Ah, works now... let's see if it likes the model...

Whoopie! It works perfectly! Thank you so much!!

Is this an official build of Modelview? Probably not. Oh well.
I still can't save the retexturing in the shielded Lucifer I want to do...

Hmm...  I gave a version of the code with what I worked on to Bobboau.  I haven't yet heard from him about ModelView32 or Aurora.

Is there a version of modelview out that allows you to place headlights, nav lights, etc?

I understand.  I'm also very stressed, especially with my failing students.

Bobboau, did the ModelView32 source work for you this time?  The community still lacks some powerful MODding tools.

Normally I would reprimand you for such a pointless bump, but since it's here...

VA, can you re-post that EXE? I seem to have misplaced it.

Also, when are we gonna get engine and dockpoint editing in here?

How about... NEVER!!!!  Bobboau is, as I have realized, too smug with his Aurora.  Repairing engine and implementing dockpoint/paths editing would be a dream, a very nice dream.

What Rampage said. The two 1337est programmers in here each have their own programs, so I can't see them touching modelview :blah:
