I can't really come up with any improvements/ additions, so this (should) be the final texture set. 512x512 maps at present, the metal seams are a little dark, but hopefully size reduction will fix that. took me about 3 days to draw, I added shading effects to every line on the model, to try and get it a bit better looking.
The model is a bit high-poly (560-ish without thrusters), but it's not an en0-masse bomber, so it should be ok.
Arms - 'Bout 10 gunports, possibly 1/2 turrets.
It's obviously a total redesign of the older ship model, and I'm now starting editing the file to compile to pof.

Looks darn sweet dude! But seriously, all your old ships are of such high quality, I reckon you should leave them in there as Mark 1's, and make your new models Mark 2's. 'cos those old ones, old as they are, are too good to waste (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Well, i considered it, but I rea;ly hate the older versions of this and the Claymore, and they don't really look right with the newer models.... plus hud.tbl is getting stretched (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) . In fact, the only thing that's survived intact is the Gryphon.

Really? Okay, fair enough. I kinda liked them all, actually. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) I pity those who aren't paying attention here and will never have had the benefit of seeing the old ships (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

What's Starsiege?
I think it looks a bit cell-shaded, actually.

Starseige is a semi-obscure RTS (?, at least I think it's an RTS) game.
This is just a hunch on my part, but do you hand draw your textures and then scan them into the computer?

I told you that It ("http://www.homestead.com/jskgames/files/home.html") would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...

Awesome stuff as always... A much more intriging design than the old one. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) You'd have to excuse my dry comment, I'm at a school sleepover with nothing to do for 6 or more hours...
-
i dont often comment on user made models but this is simply stunning, it looks like it comes right out of a manga cartoon, excellent work

Nope..all in PSP.

Ka-ZAM! It's a bomber!

I have to say it DOES look kind of cartoonish... dunno why
It's really great (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I though it was a picture at first then people said its a model. It seems to have incomplete draw lines and badly or partly shaded areas (lazy drawer if you think of it like that, for cartoons anyway (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif))

In a mad sort of way, the older models seemed to have more of their own character. The new ones all look like the illegitimate offspring of Babylon 5.

I don't think a model can have a personality... it's only an abstract set of polys. it can have a general feel, but that's only really applicable to the person who makes it, and the person who uses it.
Also, I've only watched B5 about 3 times - and that was around 6 years ago. The only ships i know are the Starfury and a few of the ones from the mod.
So any resemblence to B5 is accidental, except the nightmares, becuase the idea was inspired by the Shadows.
Anyway, the old models were gash.
