Love it. But what's the ship looking like it's caught in the Superlaser? Wouldn't be the Dildo Cruiser, would it? ;)

Its called a Dreadnaught...used widely during the clone wars. Hopefully Episode III will show a few of these. Production of these were discontinued after the empire formed and started their ISDs :D

Very nice pic btw :)

If it's not an ISD, it's a Dreadnaught.

Oh, yeah - credits on the models to the SWMA of 5 years ago or so - these models have been on my HDD for ages. :p

I know what A dreadnaught is :p :D

like I told sandwich, Star Wars ships look really indistuinguishable from far away or weird angles.

Pic is still great. :D

Pic looks great. But looking at it, I can't help but imagine...

"Fire!"

...

"The other way, you idiot!"

Just a little nitpicking: the superlaser beams extend out too far before coming together. Otherwise:

There's still an active mirror of SWMA online. Hit up Goggle and you can find it. Course TheForce.net has most of what SWMA had and alot of it's more updated and higher quality.

I dunno, you think?

Perhaps a wee bit, but it's hard to tell from the angle.

I think it looks cool save for the starfield, which is too dense, and the shadows, which aren't dark enough.

Starfield is aimed more at realism (I know, I know - the Death Star is in the pic, for pete's sake! ), where in stmosphere-less space you can see a heck of a lot more than you can from the surface.

And you may not have any pitch black shadows, but then again, consider where they are: in between a sun and a glowing gas giant. ;)

I've uploaded the full 2000x1500 picture here (http://www.brainzipper.com/death-star-full.jpg). (628Kb)

Noticeable in the full version is an annoying texture seam on the Death Star. Too bad. :(

Whoa, my memory must be going. I remember the superlasers coming together much closer. Too bad my VCR totally trashed my RotJ tape and I lost ANH so I couldn't really double check.

Eh, well time to redeem my comment somehow...

Ummm... it's about 10 miles too far out... ya that's it... :nervous:

Go and buy the DVDs man!

ANyway, I think the lasers converge correctly. I don't know why you guys said they don't.

:wtf: They haven't put out the Original Series on DVD yet. If they have, I'd like to know..

And I thought they did put it on DVD. My mistake. So far, I've only seen the VCD format versions of the trilogy.

Last I heard they've got to enhance them first in some way.

I don't see how you can enhance an old film any better save re-acting the whole trilogy again. They already cleaned up the films right? Now its clearer but what else can you do?

They're probably getting all sorts of extra features ready, such as interviews (Carrie Fisher went All-American - she got fat! ), and whatever other goodies they can think of.

Carrie Fisher's been fat for a long time. She was a heavy smoker, and pot/cocaine addict during and after Star Wars IIRC, and then an alcoholic and so on.

George Lucas will go nuts having to redo all those space battle scenes with today's 3D technology. He already released the special edition and now the you ask him to redo the 3D scenes...hehehe:p
