So, what do you consider to be the theme tune for Freespace 2?
-
The Cinema naturally. Because the Aquitaine.wav isn't really a tune.
-
Fair enough, peanuts.
-
whats the one used in the trailer?
-
Ironically I was taking a break from Modding at the time I first read this and was listening to Cinema at the time :)
Actually I consider Brief 1 the theme tune since it's the one that introduces you to the first mission.
-
Brief4 does it for me.
-
The Title music from FS1 - for some reason those tunes are more characteristic than the ones found in FS2 - except for the cinema.
Listen to btl2 from FS1 - it's got an awsome moodiness.
Or the 5'th track - the same one you hear during Playing Judas.
-
The title music from FS1 is eternal.
As for FS2, I think the Aquitaine would be the main track, but when I think of FS2, I usually think of the CO battle series, and the Sathanas fight music. Along with Btl AO1.

A close second for me. Brief 1 only wins cause I heard it first. Brief 4 is much better :)
-
When I think of FS2, Aquitaine.wav is what comes into my head. It's the one that is always there, ergo it is the theme music. Cinema may be more haunting and powerful, but the question is which is the theme, not which is best.

Probably the mission music, to be honest. In particular, when I first played the first nebula mission, the music struck me as perfect for the occasion as we sailed through the blue-green mist... that tune stuck with me

I love that one too. :D Was it the one in the Rakshasa attack briefing?

Yep. (If you mean the first mission in which the shivans appear)
