Poly counts @ ~3900 polys. ships is currently 3 seperate objects.
My third attempt at Trek modeling is going better and I hope to finish this one.
Have run out of ideas at the moment. Time wise it shoud be contemporary with the Galaxy-class. I'm going with the idea that it's a prototype ship that wasn't picked up for for the fleet.
Flame away ;)

looks like a cross between a excelcior and constellation(refited) class clear early days but showing promice
i tried to look out my reliant class ship but i cant find it =( i know i have it on cd somewhere but i cant be bothered to find it since its not on my hd
now some crits well modeling wise looks like you got it in hand but design isn't consisitant with the mid 24th centuary period of the galaxy class this looks like something kirk would recognise next ship in devolpment after the excelcior i would say but jsut my opinion =)
-
Design consistensy, to some degree, went out the window. :o
That's the problem with improvisation.
-
Nice design, if not totally original.
Where are those warp nacelles? Or can this thing go to warp with them?:D
Just joking.:)
-
Nice design. Reminiscent of an Ambassador-class ship if you ask me. Better than anything I've tried lately ;)
-
I just noticed that the secondary hull (that's where Engineering is) looks too big for the saucer section. Maybe you should consider scaling it down a bit.
Just a suggestion.:)

Small update.
Trying to decide what kind of nacelles it should have. Excelsior style or more like the Galaxy?
Not to mention windows :nervous:
-
wellllllllllll since you already made the necel holders prety excelsior like
-
Looks a lot like the Ambassador class... (1701-C)
-
Actually, for the nacelles, you should design something new. Don't always follow the same design. That what I feel. Something new and fresh will make your ship that more interesting to the eye.
As for the windows, two ways. Create a map with windows drawn onto it or create your own windows by using Splines to draw rectangles then Extrude them then position them into the hull of the ship with a little protusion so that they are still visible.:)
-
I agree with neohunter. design your own Nacelles. it would probably be better.
-
i think he means what style. short and stubby=galaxy class, long and sleek=excelsior class.

This is what I mean. :)
-
Long and sleek is always better. The Galaxy class was just plain funny-looking. I might go so far as to say it was ugly.
-
i don't think long and sleek would mtach real well on a ship like this. try something in between.
-
Design a new nacelle configuration then. Or position them somewhere else rather than always on the topside of the secondary hull. Or you can even increase the number of nacelles the ship will have. Don't necessary have to be two only.
