Well i was wondering if you could continue please, i've ran into alot of difficultys with my computer, need to really buy a new one! so if you wouldn't mind finishing it i would be enternaly greatfull.

I got problems with heaps of polys, but I might try and get some help from Styxx finishing it. I'll keep you posted.

I guess if it's a destroyer you can have up to 2000 if you don't want to do any optimizing. But it's still max ~800/subobject  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

So if you wanted a 2000 poly destroyer you'd have to use different subobjects for the hull? I thought Bobbaou said that was BAD. =P

IIRC, the Colossus was ~1200 polys, and the Sathanas was ~1100.

Yes Morris, you'd need different subobjects if you wanted that many polys. But lots of subobjects is a Bad Thing[tm], which is why people prefer to just stick below the poly limit.

Basically, as long as the main hull is kept under the 800 poly limit, it's fine. The turrets are bound to take a few hundred polys if there's lots of them.
