This is mainly a publicity stunt. :D
The first four ships are from the Karran Imperium, the last one is a Swarm fighter.

Designs and textures are staying as they are. Sorry, it took me long enough to cook the Karran designs up! Credit to Raptor for the SF Shrike's design.
I will have more to show one day.......modelling is a LOOOOONG process! :D

The textures are staying because I CAN'T ****ING UV MAP!!!!:mad:
And it's not for want of trying, I assure you. I've tried to UV the Harpy FIVE TIMES following tutorials, not following tutorials and by just playing around.
If you want better textures, find me a willing UV Mapper.

You'll learn, just don't give up and don't feel obligated to release work you're not satisfied with. We all gotta start somewhere

Well, I tried following IP Andrews' UV tutorial again and found something I missed. So I'm releasing the Harpy as public domain in a seperate thread. :)

the predator, furious, and the shrike would look really nice with the textures they have as REALLY large ships, IMO

Well I love the designs - keep up the good work, and ignore the guys who just say they don't like it, they've offered you nothing constructive for you to improve upon so their opinion is as pointless as their posting in this thread. Keep practicing, god knows you're better at it than I am :)

Thanks, Kalfireth. It's taken me ages to get this lot done.
The fighters I will now be UV mapping, and I'm doing it my way because it's my franchise.
Bottom line:
THIS MOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FREESPACE UNIVERSE, SO ANY COMMENTS THAT 'OH, IT'S NOT LIKE THE GTF SUCH AND SUCH' WILL BE IGNORED!
And the Predator and Furious are staying as they are. I spent a lot of time getting those designs to how I like them. You go and try to create an entire sci-fi franchise from scratch.
There will be bigger ships. And when I say bigger ships, I'm talking cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships mounting nearly a hundred turrets on them.
Capships in this TC are VERY dangerous - as they're supposed to be. Don't attack one unless you've got bombs or a death wish.
And you thought the Sathanas was big? The Apocalypse class Super-Battleship will be about SSD size! :D
Oh yeah, and the ships also look better in game than they do in any image.
For your information, the Predator class destroyer is about 50m high. That gives her between 15-20 decks. Each 'light bank' on her is ONE DECK. The furious tends to have two or three decks per light bank.

I was wondering how the S Swarm was comming along... Anyway just wanted to say that although I don't know the general shivan color shceme you're going for that the shrike looks like it could be better (maybe cause the pic is dark, had a hard time seeing it) just an opinion.
You learned how to map!! damn. more than I can do.. I had to spend 4 or 5 hours trying combinations for my yorktown carrier cause the fricken thing only takes 3 textures!!! Turned out ok and was one of my first texturing experiences so I know how you must've felt about the models you showed...
Regardless, I think they came out just fine... Keep up the good work. I'm sure there are more than a few people who will be happy with your efforts!

I like the consistency of the first two ships - it's like they have a common hull, with interchangeable weapons pods (i.e. the wings). Kinda cool!:)
The capships look pretty fine as well. Work on the texturing, and they'll be excellent when you're done.
Oh, BTW - I've nearly got all the names sussed out for the other races. Will send you them soon...;)

For Star Dragon: The Swarm War will be done when it's done. Progress is as fast as can be when there's not much more than a three-man development team (two concept workers - Raptor and Pyro, and one person making it all for the game - me) but I hope that within the next couple of months I can release a sort of 'Mini-Pirate War' demo, with all the Karran ships, some civilian ships and some pirate ships so you can get a feel for the way things work.
And a brief history lesson:
Gencore Fleet Systems built the Harpy to a specification handed to them by Karran Military Command. They wanted a fighter that was fast, agile and packed a reasonable amount of weaponry. What was, in essence, a scout fighter.
GFS churned out the Harpy, which was fast, agile, and packed a vicious pair of new lasers coupled with launch tubes capable of carrying the new Firestrike single-kill missile. The Harpy also boasted a good set of shields and hefty armour and the ship quickly became the front-line fighter of the Karran Imperium.
Building on the success of the Harpy, GFS produced the Phoenix. Adding an extra pair of guns and making the atmospheric wings larger (yes, all Swarm War ships are designed to be atmospheric as well) they also cranked up the speed and tweaked the agility a little. The shields were improved and the armour strengthened. The Phoenix started to phase out the Harpy, but by the time of the Swarm Incursion, only about half the fighter squadrons in the Karran Imperium had the Phoenix.
As for the Gencore GFSF-25 Maelstrom Advanced Multirole Fighter-Bomber........you'll just have to wait!!
