the main idea of the face is that you cant see much of it, but i cant get it to look quite right, but is there anything you think i should add/remove/change.

BTW i was trying to make it look like he was walking towards you, but atm its just looks as if hes standing, ok i know atm he has no legs and they will help, but other than that and suggestions?

Big, pointy sword+ Big, feathery wings curling around in front of him+guy running= somebody who won't be flying much of anywhere

:D

What is it with the wings thing now, anyway? Is it not a drawing until at least one person is a bewinged freak? Is this some kinda anime thing, like the disturbing women with cat ears? Or is it just that y'all want everyone to be able to fly, and can't draw a decent rocket backpack?

nah, mines a FF thing, Sephiroth an incarnation of pure evil and a ***** with a sword was tagged "one winged angel"

I just loved the character and adapted it abit, gave my guy the pair and his sword and voila ... my guy :D

yeah, a few steps i follow.. (that inked?)

1. scan line art in @300 dpi (no less) in greyscale..
2. got  to image -> Mode -> Bitmap. This will remove any unwanted flecks..
3. then convert to RGB using a varied method of step 2.. and you've got clean line art on your hands..

good luck

After some time of trying to hand ink a 'clean' copy of the outline and getting frustrated with bits that didnt match, (the hand just wouldnt play this time) i decided to re-scan the original sketch in an try and play around in PS to clean it up abit.

So i did that, i kinda liked the hand draw lines so i left them (that and i couldnt be arsed spending hours going over them in PS to make them neater :D)

Anyways, just being playing with the coat and shading and heres the result .. piccy :D

not too happy with it in places but shouldnt take much to sort it out, not bad for a first attempt at using PS for this kind of work i would say :p

For some reason, the words "irate pigeon" keep coming to mind when I look at that picture. It probably has something to do with the feathers flying everywhere.

hmm...the words "OW MY GOD IT HURTS SOMEONE TAKE THIS KATANA OUT OF MY WING!!!" come to me when I see it. Probably from the huge length of the katana on the other pic you posted...
