How can i use a other font in FS2 the font files in the sparky_fs2.vp have the end .vf but fonts files have the end .ttf.

I believe that you would have to use the fonttool that is inculded with the source code, but I'm not sure.

BTW, you are definitley joining TAP, we're just pondering over who will ask Shrike.

This would be a nice stuff. Could anyone compile a working FONTTOOL  ? The version I have downloaded from warpcore hasn't worked.

Did you use it in MS-DOS Prompt?

If not then it doesn't work.


type: Fonttool filename.pcx [filename.vf]


That should do it.

Where have you heard that fonttool is able to convert TTF files ? I don't think it. I think that it converts only PCX, which have characters bounded into some boxes in a specific color.

The program requires  FontTool.pcx file from the source code. The file must be in code/Fonttool directory. Fonttool.exe should be in your main Freespace 2 directory (where you have FS2.exe).

Fonttool runs on my computer but I can't use mouse nor keyboard in the program. I have tested it on my AMD Duron 700 with 256MB RAM, GeForce 2 MX400 and 'Direct 3D - Primary Display Driver (32 bit) (640x480)'  on Win2000 and Win98.

I said that I wasn't able to use mouse nor keyboard. There might be a bug in the program. So I can't help you.
