Name: GTT Kiev
Speed: 20 kps
Weapons: 4 X-Pulse Lasers
Description: Newest of the terran transports. But unlike the Argo and Bes, the Kiev is built for carrying mostly troops, tanks, and battlemechs. However in recent engagements with the shivans, they have been used to carry fighters and bombers.

Not bad at all. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

need to fix a texture on the end of the docking port though.
-
That looks pretty darn cool. What prog did you use to make the texture maps?

I told you that It ("http://www.geocities.com/jskgames/home.html") would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...
-
they were all out of freespace 2 cept for the temporary texture on the nose. But i got it from somewhere else, i think maybe one of the apoc's textures.

Battlmechs? Why the recent surge of BattleTech-related topics?
So, is it considered a WarShip? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

Nah, a DropShip. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

I think it looks more like a giant orbital 4 tubed missile launcher (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) but me likes (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Actually, IIRC, the shape of those tubes looks suspiciously like a cross-section of a Shivan cargo container... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wtf.gif)

Dropships are cruiser-to-corvette-sized warships built to carry a small number of fighters and perhaps bombers (maybe 2 or 3 wings total). They are effective enough in combat that they can hold their own, but those fighters give them an edge.
The Moloch class was redesignated the SDs Moloch instead of SCv Moloch, due to its fighterbay.
As for that TRANSPORT (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif), I think it looks great.
Wait... are those things actually acting as fighterbays? or just big storage areas... or am I completely wrong (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

hmm, to me, a dropship or anything could be any size. In fs2, classes are just not respected. small cruisers and huge destroyers?
