Acquire Target : Shivannode. Commence Plasma Core Insertion. Beam-Free-All. FIRE!

Welcome to HLP. There are exits to the left and rear. Do not attempt to use them. Under your seat you will find empty beer cans, cookie crumbs, dog eared dungeon Porn mags left by Shrike... oh, and a Flamethrower. Unfortunately, we're out of napalm, so you'll have to bludgeon people to death with them.

In the event of serious conflict, there are plasma rifles in the forward locker, though these can be opened by an Admin, [V] God, or Hyperintelligent shade of the colour Blue. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself crawling around in the ductwork, there's a better than average chance you'll encounter a Shivan. They're easy to spot with the five legs and all. If you're lucky, it's just Carl, who responds well to food rewards. If not, then at least you die quickly. Be aware that the entrance to the main control room is guarded by subspatial claymore mines.

If you type "you" and it comes out "we", blame the Admins, same for the russian letters.

Have a nice day.

*cues Shivan assault*

We could help you better if you posted more specific information, like what error the program gives you  Maybe also some additional info like specs and the like...

You secure that attitude and we might. And hasn't this guy been registered here before? I'm sure I remember him...

Now... perhaps your CDs are scratched. Like Kamikaze said, we need more details. If it always goes wrong in the same place, then perhaps there's a scratch or smudge on the disc. If it looks like there might be, you'll have to copy the entire disc to a CD-R or your HD...

1. Explore the CD

2. Copy everything

3. Paste somewhere on your HD

4. Make a pot of tea while you wait

When you are installing and you are asked for the CD concerned, you point the installer at the information on your HD rather than at the CD like you normally would.

And yes, we are great. Glad someone finally noticed.

Another way if your CD`s are scratched (sounds like it) is to have a hunt around for either

a) a Music/computer shop that performs "surface renew" on CD and DVD.

b) obtain a nifty little device called "the diskdoctor". It works wonders for me.

this is cause if your CD`s are scratched beyond a point it may be impossible to copy the contents across.

Good luck!

The Disc Doctor is a huge ripoff! It's like $40. You can get an equally capable product for $10 at your local Radio Shack. It cleaned my CDs flawlessly.

And it's not water, it's actually 70% alcohol. :p

Yeah, but even at a 'mere' 40%, Jackie D's is still the superior product :)

*pats bottle sitting on desk*

Ah, sweet liqour eases the pain...

Someone recommended  toothpaste of all things. He said that rubbing it in and then rinsing it off did wonders for his CD`s. Had a tech explanation too as to why it worked....

Personally I just take my amazingly scratched CD`s to this little shop and they have a machine that strips the top layer and then sprays a new one on.... Very cool.

Almost everyone local i know who has a PC uses them.

Yeah I used to own a disk doctor. I did find the cleaning solution to be a rip but I did own a disk that wouldn't work at all no matter how many times I tried it, but once I used the disk doctor it worked.  Oh well Ill probably just buy the disk at sam goody again. (the only place Ive ever seen it)
