Title: Babylon Project
Post by: YodaSean on November 19, 2001, 12:40:00 pm
I downloaded the Babylon Project demo a long time ago, and I wanted to go back to the original FS2.  So I double clicked on something like "UninstallMinbaridemo.exe" and it deleted Freespace!!!  Did the mod designers rename the uninstall program or something?  They should really make these kinds of things clearer!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/mad.gif)

That also happend to me. No big deal though I just re-installed FS2 and I had all my important pilots backed up.

The demo you downloaded are not supported by the Babylon project guys. Read more on their website.

Hehe.  I just don't understand though.  Do these people feel they have to modify everything???  I really wouldn't think anything was missing if they didn't rename the uninstall program.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

Ummm... Hello? The Babylon Project is a total conversion, not just an ordinary mod.
We have planned to change as much as possible, as long as our looks better than original, whatever it is. For example shockwave effect is pretty good, we don't have better so it is not changed, yet.   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) Even launcher will be replaced, only if Avenger can make simple and yet effective launcher for us, that is.

tut tut,and i have the launcher that emulates the original launcher exactly, kazan can back me up on this, the setup window looks identical. All the functions that are in the original are on the modded version, and i even fixed a few bugs that volition had left in there launcher!
