It's completely un-FS related but after experimenting in TrueSpace I created a Dalek from Doctor Who (do we have any fans here?). It can be seen by clicking the link below:
http://www.geocities.com/ackleyfarran/dalek.html
It's currently untextured and incorrectly coloured. I choose random colouring so I could how parts stuck into other parts. A some point prior to colouring, I'll make the 'balls' on the base more spherical. That's not going to be hard, just long and tedious especially since there's 48 of them.
There are a few mistakes. The furthest rightness side of the base should beabout twice as wide, and has a with a 2nd lot of balls on it. There are currently a few too many pinkish panels around the middle bit - they remain ones would also be a bit wider to cover more area. The 'blocks' holding the gun and sucker also show too much edge, this due to the main body probably not being the correct shape.
Even with these errors, I'm rather impressed with it. Forgive me for that sentance but my artistic talent is about equal to that of a dead cat so I wished to show off my model.
At some point I'll add it to my own website - Telencephalon. Why not visit it? (Sorry for the pimping!)

I thwart your plan!
Seriously, though. Looks great.

Look at the base of the Dalek, and think about it.

Nice model. Though I don't remember any Daleks with plungers in the original...

i know someone who actually owns a full sized dalek..

I hate to sound geeky but Daleks, well at least the Imperial faction, can overcome stairs. They do so in 'Remembrance of Daleks' where the Imperials have some sort of anti-grav device built into the lower base.
On the other hand, if a Dalek appeared in your house (pretty unlikely) running up your stairs wopuld not help you any. It could just blast you though the floor/ceiling with some poor looking special effect.

I'm pretty sure all the television Daleks had sink plungers (except for the odd 'special'). The Daleks in the two films had had a sort of claw gripper device. Which kind of makes sense, but I still prefer the plunger.
Now all I have to do is build up a flimsy looking corridor . . .

Not bad. I have one nit pick though, on the hemispheres along the bottom skirting. Rather than setting the spheres into the body willy nilly, you should divide them along the equator, then use the magnet tool to set them flush against the flat surfaces of the skirting. This would ensure that you get the best possible curve out of TS's quads-n-tris-only spheres (it wouldn't matter if you were using a geosphere).

 Even if they have their anti-grav stuff, I think it's funny. :D
The Dalek looks good. Geometrically pretty close to the original, in fact.
