My lastest model, hopefully better than the last. Suggestions welcome, im thinking of adding a optics sight possibly.
-
it's ok, but a bit too chunky for my tastes. Try rounding the bottom.
-
Too blocky for something modern. If it's sci-fi you could get away with it by modeling in an opening with exposed wiring, a keypad, some random tubes or something. Or make it look like it's been armor plated.
-
too blocky? ever seen the pulse rifle from aliens? one of my favourite scifi rifles btw.
-
Make a handel hole along the top and a nice lil video paddy type thing on the side (cam corder type jobby, dunno why butt i can imagine it looking good) and a few other pointless but nice things suck as ammo counters ect. but good start mate
-
the pulse rifle from aliens has sharp angels but isnt a foot wide like that one!
-
btw, looks like a cross between an FAMAS and the Moritia out of Starship Troopers.
-
good start, but it needs more detail, less simpleness
-
anybody know where i could get a font for those calculator numbers?
-
I'd recommend modeling in each of the LCDs and illuminating them as necessary... but here you go.

Thanks :)
Updates, added a videopad thing. Retracts(against the body of the gun) when not needed and is tough enough to survive most things.

It's good but what's with the keypad? To lock it with a code or something? :wtf:
-
The screen has the mission profile, orders and a image of the target, the keypad is confirmation to unlock the sensitive orders and also a keyboard, for various stuff. An integrated PDA system etc.
-
squish down the front right behind the barrel.
-
You could stand to lose all of that bottom section in front of the trigger guard.
but it looks good otherwise.
-
The whole idea of a bull-pup (magazine behind the grip) rifle is that the grip is so far forward that the center of mass is between the shoulder butt and the grip, thus allowing steady aiming even with one hand. Try switching around the grip with that bottom section.
Also, add in a bunch of greebling on the flat sections.

Doesn't it look like the gun from Halo? Or has it been too long since I've played it?
-
you're right, it kinda looks between Halo's AR and a pulse rifle...
