Oh, I think you do, Trebek. I think you do...

Steve Bacic who played Gaheris Rhade in the first episode also played Colonel Coburn in a couple of Stargate SG1 episodes?
-
Mebbe it's just supposed to be funny cos he looks like a Goa'uld?
-
Nah. That's not worth a cookie. It's far too easy! :)
-
I laughed! I cried!
Okay, so I didn't cry.
I didn't laugh either.

What bothers me is not so much watching it...but watching it and realizing the POTENTIAL that was in the story and the concept that was not realized at all. It was a fantastic story....fall of utopia essentially...its classic! And potentially epic. Instead, we go around each episode shooting the crap out of people. Very upsetting.

No, Hercules goes around shooting people. Let's not lose sight of what's important here...

ARGH! Quit insulting the Legend! That guy is a piece of snot compared to the legend.
:p
-
:wtf:... you mean Hercules didn't have an american accent and didn't live New Zealand?
-
i agree with icefire the story had potential. i'm just going to say that. yeah
-
well, I didn't see much of it, just a few space scenes actually, and I have to say they looked pretty good.
But the andromeda looks suspisciously like the Sol Bianca (well, my memory could betray me, but it's what I remember ), not that it's a bad design reference, tho :)
-
It could of been good, if i remember rightly the 1st few episodes wern't that bad, then it just flaming sh1te :mad2:
-
Not to mention that it suffered from a bad case of the Zacharys.
I mean how many times does Tyr have to betray the crew before they figure out that life would be simpler if they just shot him and threw him out of an airlock?
-
is it me or Tyr actually just a klingon who forgot to go into make-up?
-
Klingons at least have honour (for the most part). Tyr is a backstabbing git who would have been pushed out of an airlock if I had my way :D

Oreos are on the way! :)
Anyways, I did the gou'ald thing not to poke fun at the Hunt character, but Sorbo himself. Ever since Wolfe got the boot, the show has turned into a horrible steaming pile of ****.

That show is filmed here... I've seen that guy get off the skytrain before....

Moon him the next time you see him. :D

Well, I've no idea what the show your talking about is like, but be thankful you guys get some SF over there. We get nothing... not even Stargate, half the time. :sigh:
-
:wtf: Nice Try with humor :wtf:

You aren't missing anything. The one decent scifi show left on the air is Stargate SG-1....though with Viacom buying out Scifi, we MAY have a chance of getting Farscape back.
-
Yeah, Farscape!:D

It's *gasp* a TOS Klingon! Back when the Romulans had honor, the Klingons didn't, and they had not yet discovered prosthetic foreheads :p
-
and had overly fuzzy eyebrows :p

Plus, they didn't smack foreheads. :D
-
The Romulans still have an honour system. It's just... more flexible than the Klingon system :)
I liked the Romulans. They could have made for much better baddies than they did
-
ok, in the 60's star trek the klingons didn't have the nose ridges and the klingons of the newer star trek do could you tell me how they got them?
-
No, because they refuse to discuss it with 'outsiders'.
-
are you a klingon

for non american people, there's definitively an american accent, mind you. it has varients, but it's definitively the " I speak english with very hot potatoes in the mouth" accent. :ha:

I agree with you there. All the american accents do seem to be closely related.
Besides you americans often mention people speaking with an English accent which is even more ridiculous! :)
-
there's even variants in the australian accent.... you'd notice after a while... usually the further up north you go, the broader the accent (i live in tassie) almost imperceptable but you notice....

of course. I suppose it's the same in every country anyway. sometimes I have problems understanding people from the south of France or from Bretagne ( but they use different words and expressions too, so it's normal, somehow ). I know I have a very slight accent compared to Paris french, but it needs no effort from me to overcome it.

We're saying you don't _have_ to. It's purely a matter of personal preference.
As for you Merkins - most of us Johnny Foreigners can just about tell if you're from Texas or not, but that's pretty much it :)
-
The New Jersey and New York accents are reasonably different and with a little practice you can easily tell them apart but that together with the texas/southern accents are about it for the rest of us unless someone explains the difference.
On the other hand even after only hearing them once I doubt there would be many people who couldn't tell the difference between the cornish, brummie, geordie and cockney accents (and that's just to name a few of the many varied accents in England alone. Add the rest of Britain and it gets even harder).
-
Careful, you'll set Petrarch off on one of his rambles...
