Title: For the non-freelancers...
Post by: deep_eyes on April 07, 2003, 11:13:33 pm
pardon the expression... but its a start! (pardon lack of quality pics, i was running 3rd lowest setting for fastest movement possible-heck its a TN2 on a 400 celeron... also i didnt make this, some guy over @ lancers reactor did and i am mirroring his work in a thread in freelancer forum. this is a post to show the fs2 ships are possible there... soon they plan on having the actual FS2 destroyers etc...)

Erynes Fighter in tradelane (2 shots), invisible Perseus taking off from hamsburg, and perseus flying by fort bush (me thinks i forgot)....

PEOPLE! WE HAVE A SITUATION HERE! WE MUST LEARN TO FIND A WAY TO GET OUR GAME... INTO THAT UNIVERSE!!! btw there are alot of FS2 fans in lancers reactor... how about we crash there pad and invite them over for some tea?

Not really a good idea to post screenies if you cannot run the game in higher settings. Is that why FS2 ships looks so bad? :ick

The textures are really low-res, but hey! They're in the game! ;7

EDIT: Deep eyes, you posted the same post in three threads. Next time just link to ONE thread to focus the discussion there.

--------------------------

anyway, even when i did have it hi-res, everything looked supar, but the FS2 ships textures arent good. if u dl the thing, the guy even says it.......... meh so dont blame me.

Putting new ships in freelancer should be at the bottom of the list for modders.  There's just too many other things the game needs before people start spending countless hours getting their favorite ships in the game.

If all the other things that need to be done aren't, i doubt anyone will even care about freelancer ship modding.

if there was a way to blend in the freespace & freelancer engine, then it would be balanced totally IMO. the thing is, freelancer was made like windows, DLL's, INI's, and microsoft access tables etc....

the freelancer engine itself needs work on many things, but for a game with its features, its the first of its kind (i think i am for sure on this detail), so its like, when MS desides to stop milking the game byitself, it should recieve a service pack... but like windows, that usually takes awhile.
