I was messing around on Google and found this. I thought all the ships in that movie were CG. But it turns out there almost all real.

I want one of these for my place!
-
Stick some engines on it and you've got yerself a speedboat... Although it'd probably sink :(
-
I recognise those... Starship Troopers?
-
Yep. Awesome model.
-
That would be cool hangin above your bed... or not. Maybe somewhere else.
If one would install some lights into it it would make a great, good looking and different roof light :D
And the same goes to B5 model, man I'd like to have one of those.

[color=66ff00]Being a builder of RLâ„¢ models I used to get a magazine called sci-fi and fantasy modelmaking (apt name huh? :) ), the magazine often had features on up and coming film props. I saw the Rodger young etc. a week or two before troopers came out. What's even more impressive though is the Event Horizon minature, it's somewhere in the region of 20 to 30 feet long. If I can hunt out those magazines I'll scan it, bloody impressive.

heh, love that movie.... i'm always a fan of horror movies.... particularly sci-fi horror etc, my personal fav is 'the thing' :D love that spider head...
-
John Carpenter rules :)
Cheers,
-
Ah... the good ol' Rodger Young... :D

Looks like that ship has everything except sensors that can see more then 10 miles ahead.
-
it also looks like the Yamato form Starlancer

So it does. But then, there are near identical ships in all Sci-Fi entities these days. Except Perry Rhodan, of course.;7
How many of you have heard of that?

Oh my gosh, Perry Rhodan, Peacelord of the Universe!!
*goes to bookshelf*
I always wanted to complete my "collection". It's really pathetic - I have 9, 11, 12, 14, and 15. :(
...but wait a minute, didn't they just have these spherical ships... Stardust was one, no? Yeah, it was just a sphere 800 yards in diameter, with a bulge around the equator that made it look like it had swallowed a 1960's Flying Saucer. :p
-
most orginal ship design w/cloaking device i might add..:p

Oh yes, the mighty sphere. How original.

Why is it I can't find a piccychur of the ship in Pitch Black?
----------------
Diamond Geezer has excellent taste in music
-
because it's such an obscure and mediocre movie?
-
Don't do a Zylon on me. The film had space ships and monsters in it, which is good enough in this gaff.

Diamond Geezer intends to live fast, die young, and leave a beautiful corpse

The Hunter-Grazner? I've seen a few pics but nothing good.
-
DG: Maybe because you can't use Google?

Check the last one for model shots.
And considering how much of a dick you were being to Razor only recently, you aren't gonna get much sympathy with accusations of Zylonism. Whether Razor deserved it or not is neither here nor there- a full half of the people Zylon is a jerk to deserve it.
-
Hey hey hey, I stand my opinions concerning Razor. I'm just bowing to public pressure, K?
Now, as for me Googling abilities, I searched through about twenty pages from the Image Searcher before I got bored and gave up. Normally I have the greatest respect for the Image Search, but this time around it failed me. Oh well :)
From one of Stryke's handy links:

Freespace's designs seem mostly quite unique to me... unless someone can point me out their inspirations...
-
Image search is nice, but it's limited. It shows only a fraction of what your search has turned up, and sometimes it's not the right fraction.

Colossus - Star Trek Phaser rifle
Hecate - King Charles Spaniel
Aeolus - Hand held vacuum cleaner
Aten - Great Cumbrae Island (in the Firth of Clyde)
and so on.

I stand corrected! :nervous:
Actually, I meant starship designs from other scifi series/games.
-
Thr Orion looks vaguely like a large office building I saw a while back...
-
I always thought the Aten looked like a taser myself. I do like the designs from FS though. Much more so than FS2 (and yes yes I know the reasons why they're all curvy, vasudan influence and whatnot) I just like that chunky utilitarian look. Especially the good ole' Apollo... Pity its such a piece of crap really.

What about the infamous...
:cue music:
Inter-Galactic Space Hoover!
