oh, a new one. I've always wanted thing like that ( tho I still wonder why optic pen don't exist anymore :p like on my old MO5 :p ), but the price always, well, slaped be back :p

the damn thing almost as big as my monitor and bigger than my sketchpad.... can you imagine what i'd be able to do with that thing? no more worring about pressing too hard into the bloody paper for a start...

And cue worrying about pressing too hard and scratching/ruining the surface of an expensive-as-hell piece of equipment...
This ain't so new, the only new bit is the 18 inch. When I was shopping around for a graphics tablet, wacom had a 15 inch (or something like that) cintiq. Still damn expensive though. Much easier to do what I did - get an el-cheapo Nisis graphics tablet (minus the screen of course, but that's no problem, a little hand-eye co-ordination and it's easy to work with), A4 for well under £100. Looks cool, acts cool, pressure sensitive, and it has a higher resolution than the Wacom Intuos2 tablets. Sure, its tracking can be a little iffy on a low battery, but the hell, just use recharchables.
And the coolest bit, found out by accident, I can run micro R/C cars across the surface and it responds ^_^

it's just that the my tool of choice for my sketches happens to be a 0.5 mechanical pencil and if you are a little too 'heavy handed' it can be a ***** to erase...
