Title: problems with scratched CD
Post by: YodaSean on April 21, 2003, 04:21:49 pm
My scratched FS2 CDs only allow me to install the basic files now without getting bugged up, so I can't run the game in 1024*768 anymore :(   Is there anywhere I could find these files, and if I did find them, how would I go about installing them?

Check the HotU page of my FAQ. I guess it applies to you now :)

For a few minor scratches my friend used toothpaste...it worked, but not well enough for anything major. :D

Whether you use the wipes or someform of paste(tooth or repair), remember to wipe linearly out from the hole in the middle like spoke on a bicycle wheel.  Do not under any circumstances wipe radially around the disk, it will exacerbate the problem.  Also remember to clean your drive, a dirty drive will be less likely to read a clean disk than a clean drive read a lightly scratched disk.
