Title: An important opportunity
Post by: Shrike on April 23, 2003, 02:39:50 pm
[q]Hola, GameSpy!

Starting in May, GameSpy.com is starting up a new "Stream of the Day" feature, where we'll be showcasing short (under 3 minute) movies promoted BIG right on the front page of GameSpy.com as well as in our newsletters, etc.
As GameSpy's community, we want to give you a chance to feature YOUR work on this spot! Do you want to show off the levels in your new mod? Do you want to create a montage of the new weapons you're creating? Or do you just have an idea for a cool Counter-Strike or Legend of Zelda movie that'll blow people away? Here's your chance to post it for all to see!

  Here's the specs:
* Your video must be high res (>500 kbps) MPEG2, AVI, or Quicktime format
* 400x300 resolution or higher with a 4:3 aspect ratio
* 12 or 24 frames per second
* Videos must be no longer than 3 minutes

If you've got something cooking, we want to see it. Contact Fargo at [email protected] with a description of what you have or what you can create and when it will be ready for posting.
Pro game developers and publishers are competing for these slots, so get on top of this to reserve your slot now. I can also answer any questions you have about the new feature, so ask away!

Thanks for being a part of GameSpy!

  -Fargo
[email protected][/q]Well kids, shall we take advantage of this?

Actually, we're leaning towards making a single HLP movie, featuring small clips from all campaigns interested. Anyone willing to make one - can even be ingame footage - post here and we'll try to organize an "HLP Commercial".

:)

SCP indeed!

Get more support for it, get more ideas (speaking of which...I need to go to the SCP forum and spread my ideas around...) and most importantly, get more programmers.

Now, all we need is...a jumble of everything related to HLP and the FS2 forums!

A little snipet of INF, SCP, LM, SA, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc!

Hmmm...oh well...too bad I couldn't help out more guys.

So... say we do get this off the ground, how many seconds will each campaign get for the video? I suppose it depends more on how many campaigns are willing to participate but if there is a rough estimate out there based on assumptions...

We need to know who wants to participate first. I see everyone getting excited, but noone saying that he'll actually make a video. :p

This sticky is so old, the quick reply function was removed from it. :p

Silly GS won't even let me use this feature. "This feature is only intended for broadband users..."
