Title: meet Nina Salo
Post by: Gortef on April 25, 2003, 01:40:47 pm
Well, since many of you are posting sketches and drawings here's one sketch of mine (and a new one too).

She's the main female character of my comic (which is also my Diploma Work). Nina Salo (yep, she's Finnish)

I like the style, but the neck is too long ;)

Yeah, nice.

Neck is too long imo, and spread the legs a little further apart ;7

Smooth Ink Pen is one of the tools in Painter 7

i see.

i'm usually limited to, either pigma microns or some "uni pin" pens when ever the pigmas bleed too much into the paper i use..(when i ink) hence the wanting to get a tablet... i might save up to get a decent-sized one, after all i got my 19" monitor the same way, and that was worth about the same :p may take less time tho;)

it's because the server where the pic is is down again... :doubt:
it should be online quite soon again I think

Yea sure the more expencive ones really are better but if you are in a hurry, just buy a cheaper Wacom and I think that you should be just fine. It does depend on the person and way one draws though.
Title: New one with info
Post by: Gortef on May 13, 2003, 12:56:44 pm
since project_s on AnimeFantasia asked me to draw a colored one in a standing pose (quite a basic one), I did... and Turnskys character infos inspired me to add the information :D

more like Mika Salo:
Finish name :D
very nice again, but I see an obvious anathomical flaw, my dear Aki :)
as her arms are raised, her shoulders should be too. on that pic, her arms are just, well, dislacated :D
it's gotta hurt ;)

I know its Finnish :p
Theyre both Hockey players.. damn good ones too...
Sami is a defenceman for Vancouver, Tommy is a Goalie for Edmonton...

thanks guys ^_^
and no there's no relationships to anyone :p

Nico, I don't see that flaw
her shoulders are raised in my book. It's just that the shirt is hiding the truth.
Then again, you propably draw bodies a bit differently than me so it looks flawed to you :)
So we're both right :D

mhh... :( I don'(t have the right words to explain... it's about angles and stuff, and the fact they starttrom too low...
hmm, just go in front of a mirror and take that pause :)you'll see the "bumps" of the shoulders clearly go "above" the base of the neck, and the hell if I'm able to explain that properly :nervous:

She'd look good in a nice vinyl dress and knee-high boots.

:nervous:

I understand what you're saying, but you have to remember that women's shoulders generally arent as broad as men's...

yeah, I know, I've done anaomical drawings for a year :D
mmh, the fact she has very strong biceps might not help the feeling, in fact...nitpicking, nitpicking: the knees are too low :)
( sorry for criticizing much, but I think you have talent so I want you to improve :D)

Yeah critic is good since I can't notice everything in a short amount of time and I don't have much time to do a single pic. So I usually make one and think it's good enough and then miss many spots I should fix or improve

(and there's the matter of taste :p )
