Title: Derelict Problems
Post by: Grey Wolf on April 27, 2003, 07:07:41 pm
Anyone else have the campaign and notice that there is a distinct lack of a ships.tbl in the file? Or is only mine screwed up? Due to the lack of a TBL, it keeps displaying the Iceni look-alike as an Ulysses.

This is a common problem with Deralict due to people (mis)using the on/off script. There should be a table file for deralict but I have no idea where the script puts it when you turn it off.

I think it just deletes it, to be honest. The best thing to do (I find) is to open the derelict tables, copy all the new stuff, and just paste it into your normal tables. Much less hassle. :)

The problem is that he has NO table for Deralict. So how can he cut and paste from it :)

Ah!  I had this problem a little while back and it drove me nuts! I finally opened the derelict.exe file with WINZIP and copied the ships.tbl and stars.tbl into my data\tables directory directly.

Now I just have to remember to rename it to something else so my 8 yr old can keep playing the main campaign...

What he said. :)  I didn't realise you had NO tables whatsoever, or I'd have said this too! :)  I actually used the Derelict stuff as my base data, instead of the standard FS2 stuff - avoided this problem, and meant I didn't have to keep chopping and changing my /data/ directories around all the time. All the mods and stuff I get go straight into it, rather than having separate directories for each one.
