Title: WinXP Pro Performance Tweaks and You
Post by: Fineus on May 01, 2003, 03:38:59 am
Hey all, in my continuing search for a better software experience I'd like to do some fiddling under the hood of XP Pro, that said I'm reletivly new the entire experience - just now I completed a "tune up XP" tutorial I found on the net that's sped things up a lot but I'm sure there's more... does anyone have any idea? Cheers!

Much of what I typically do after installing XP (disable System Restore, set the page file to a fixed size and a couple of other things I can't remember) is generally covered in a basic tutorial...

A lot of people swear by stuff like jacking around with Services but I've never seen the point, especially when the site most commonly bandied about in such matter (blkviper.com) is run by a guy who doesn't have the first clue what he's talking about.
