What are the major changes from version 7?

PSP8 sux. I downloaded it, tested it for 5 minutes and uninstalled it. Only a few extra features and a better lay out. PSP 7 is way better. Eats far less memory etc.

The only real good thing about psp 8 is its progammability. The rest is crap.

PSP 8:

Five minutes is not an indication of a programs quality but rather the quality with which the tester actually tested the program.

I'm sorry but you can't call something crap and base that on a five minute experience.

I refused to use PSP5 and up...I thought PSP4 was the best that JASC was going to do and I felt like the rest of them were not upto par.  A year later, I spent some real time (hours, days, months) with the software and yes it was better.

:blah:

Its not litterally 5 minutes... I spent more then that testing it. If I tested it for 5 minutes I couldn't have tested all features (which i did). I should've said I installed it, tested it and uninstalled it.

I really didnt like the layout and such. Too messy. Its a lot like in Flash, too many windows. PSP 7 is way cleaner. Also, the added options and effects were near useless besides the background eraser and additional layering options. IMO it is not worth calling it a new version and certainly not worth your money. At best this is just a refreshing update on the old version to give it a new look.

PSP 3.11 was the most reliable... JASC has now removed it from their download page.

Behold Paint Shop Pro 8s "Too messy" layout (http://www.armouredstar.com/pics/other/PSP8inter.jpg)

And Paint Shop Pro 7s "way cleaner" layout (http://www.armouredstar.com/pics/other/PSP7inter.jpg) .... IN PSP8!!!

Customisable workspaces... alavible in Paint Shop Pro 8, in your local good stores;7

Has anyone ever said to you "I tested you out for 5 mis and you suck!" THAT would be funny....

Eh, about those screenies, if you put them all over your screen unfolded yeah its messy. But when they scroll up you have the entire screen for image editing. Scrool your mouse over them and voila you've got your windows.

last 'remark' was not directed at you, but was a funny cmment - it would be SO funny:nod: (unless of course, said person said it about yourself (or me or whoever) then it would be only mildy funny.... only:blah: )

Did you actualy get my first point?
you said mess in 8 not in 7
i said you can have 7 IN 8...
you said you can roll up windows....:wtf:

I know about them btw, I have been using 7 for longer than a few days thanks.... (actualy since 4, me=Jasc fan boy:D )

In case you didn't understand my point(and I think I know why it failed first time) - those screens are BOTH paint shop pro 8... not an example of an oposition to PSP7 which is what I think you ment...

hell yeah!
me = PSP junkie since 3.11 when I was making .rle's for the windows 3.11 splash :D
granted, PSP 7 is much cleaner than PSP8, and i just noticed that 8 is in eval! rock! anyway...oh yeah, psp 7 is cleaner than 8 out of the installer, but I felt that 8's facelift is a refreshing change, and after a little bit of coping, I prefer 8 over 7.
plus, it has a mesh distort and polar\rectangular distortion mapping :D

my only ***** with it is that they changed the zooms from ratios to percentages, wtf? :wtf:

wholly impartial
Bob

[EDIT] oh yeah, and I think they still have the 311 install\prog on their FTP, psp311somethingorother.exe, I can't access it since I'm pulling 8 eval off them... good luck if you needed it or something :)
