The general shape is based off of the patcoms from I-War2, and the textures are my first attempt at doing a single texture for a whole ship, so don't mock it too much.
It's intended as a Terran gunship, a bit larger than the Ursa, with heavy primary loadouts. It's function would be providing extended fire support to light capships.

I was originally going to try rebuilding the adpat, but I didn't quite have the skills for some of the details on it.

Take a better screenshot. And i won't mock your textures, but you deffinitly need better ones.
And for a gunship, make it bigger. Like twice the size of an ursa. With like 10 subach turrets or something to that affect. (doesn't have to be subachs)

grey wolf.... i can't say a word about the ship (since i can't even see it) but this is the best screenshot ever :drevil: :drevil::rolleyes:

thought it was just me... the wholoe thing is so dark one can barely make out the outline of the ship...
in general, i find most of the screen shots from FS2 to be dark, especially in game shots... are the ships in game that hard to make out? it has been a while since i cranked fs2 up...(waiting on delivery of game).

I don't think that's an in-game shot. What it needs is better lighting in the 3D modeller it was made in. That's the best way to take screenshots of a new mod.
In game shots are nice too but nothing beats the standard top/side/front/perspective combo.

Here. I took it into IrFanView and increased the gamma to 2.00.

If someone'll volunteer, or if they know of a good graphics program that's free (not warez, FREE), then it'll get better graphics. But as of right now, I'm working with Irfanview and MSPaint. I'll probably brighten up the textures a bit, since they are quite dark right now. Part of the reason they were dark was to hide the lack of detail. Actually, I have a new idea to try on the textures.....

Gimp's free and certainly more powerful than either of those two. A google search should find it.
Probably a pain to use though.

I always wanted to find a Iwar looking cap ship! I thought they were really cool looking... This one is excellent, and when you get the texture thing down I'm sure it can come out looking damn good... Will bee keeping an eye on this development

It's a perfect shape for a space ship. :yes:
You might give some more detail to the launchers (guns) on the sides. Preferably a more rounded shape to fit the hull.

I was trying to get it to look more like the I-War 2 Tachyon-class ship. Notice the turret on the bottom :)
Also, revised planned arnament:
Gun Bank 1: 8
Gun Bank 2: 4
Missile Bank 1: Capacity for 18 Rockeyes
Missile Bank 2: Capacity for 18 Rockeyes
Turret: 2 x Prometheus S
Length: 89m
Also, blame the horrendous quality of the first pic on modelview.

There is a bottom-mounted turret, you can see it in the first untextured pic of the revised model.

BWO has a 100m long bomber that is refered to as a light gunship, it has 8 primary points (in one bank) 3 secondary and 6 double barelled turrets

This one has 8 primaries in one bank, 4 in another, 1 double turret, and 2 small secondary banks.

As everyone else is doing this......
I have a 100m gunship type ship as well that needs a little more testing (it is my first attempt at multi-part turrets).
Only two double gun banks, but we have two quad turrets, four small single turrets, a large single turret, and a aft firing quad missile turret.
Will carry pulse weapons, very light flak, and hornets astern;)
BTW, very nice ship. Sleak, deadly, almost shark like (bit like my planed destroyer;7) Just add a few more small turrets in appropraite places, and you'll have a winner.
