When bosch realized his NTF was about to be crushed, he set up a communication post in the Alpha Centauri system, to commincate to Earth. Even though all contact was severed with Sol, radio messages could still be sent. From Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to Sol, the messages would take 4 years to arrive.
Bosch told the Earth about all that's been happening in GTVA space, and about his rebellion. Bosch communicated his true objectives to Earth, as well as the plans for the Knossos device.
The Earth got strong to Bosch's ideologies, and formed a new NTF, bent not on the extinction of the Vasudans, but to work towards the final alliance with the Destroyers.
Ever since the end of the Capella Battle, the people of GTVA space fell into an era of great depression. Their prides and hopes of victory over the Shivans were devastated when they learned of the enormous J-Fleet, the fleet of juggernauts. The depression caused the whole of GTVA space to fall into anarchy, with each man striving to get his share of power in a world that was doomed already.
The Earth's NTF anticipated all this, and decided to re-open the Sol Jump node from their side, and end the anarchy to establish a thriving civilization to enable the alliance on which the fate of humanity depends...
And so the next chapter in an old war begins.

I have something called the Procyon Confederal Autonomy in my campaign. This page is quite old but it contains some information:

You have no chance to survive make your time!
-
I could tell you, but that'd spoil my campaign....
At the moment, It's the PSA (Procyon-Sigma Alliance), but that will probably change, mainly because it sucks! All I can say about them is that they have access to exclusive state-of-the-art military technology, they have vast resources, they're almost impossible to find, and they're a lot closer to home than you'd like them to be....

Twisted Infinities, Epsilon Pegasi and the surrounding systems, 2378
The League of Surivors is the unified front presented by the previously fragmented pirate and criminal groups of the Epsilon Pegasi Sector. Part Alliance, part conquered and enslaved criminal cartels, the members of the league all take orders and pass on a certain percentage of their takings to the leader group, the once relatively insignificant Mirion Group, who recently managed to discover a so far untraceable supply of new technology and resources, enough it seems to begin producing their own ships, as opposed to converting and modifying others, as is typical among the Pirates of Epsilon Pegasi. The dangerous LSB Golem and the Pirate Strike Carrier grew from this alliance and have been significantly hampering government and commercial freighting in the sector.
While the League do not yet possess enough military technology to be a serious, direct threat to the GTVA forces in the area, many military analysts have labelled the League "Potentially Dangerous", meaning that while a criminal coup at this time would be unsuccessful, there is no telling what sort of influences this group could have in the future if allowed to grow unchecked.

All right then.
PAC-Procyon-Adhara Coalition... I've said too much already.
-
heh, everyone likes Procyon... :D
-
I've been thinking about the Ross Coalition, a group of political crazy-folk and powerful industrialists who try to destroy the GTVA from within.
They've got several shipyards in the Ross system, and are set to run the GTVA ragged.
-
Like the idea.
-
Deathstorm, check your PMs. We should talk.... :)
CP: I guess Procyon's just a good name, innit? :D
-
Let's see, I have a list here:
Neo-Hammer of Light
Terran Alliance
Martian Federation
Lunar Republic
Jovian Alliance
Outer Planets Union
Kuiper Confederacy
Vishnu Force
Sol Defense Force
Lot shorter than I thought. Well, that is just the Freespace ones.

Ok, here's mine....
Solar Empire: Militry-dictator state, the people crushed under a corupt and decadent reigme. Low tech, criminals sentenced to be 'pilots' for the Imperial Navy.
Thats all I'll say for now. For more, you will (most likely) have to wait for the campain I have half-planed to be created...;7
Came up with a excellent end-of-chapter cutsence for the first, maybe second chapter, only it would be impossible to do:sigh:
EDIT: What the? Why do I suddenly have 'Myrmidon' under my name? What does this mean?:shaking:

The ship you fly gets progressively better as you post more. Unless the Admins like you and give you a custom title that is :)

I dunno if I'd really like that sorta system - turning over expensive pieces of hardware, including the potentially devastating weapons they carry, to a convicted criminal with no reason to particularly like his superiors...
-

Drugs and/or neural implants. Think Starcraft Marines.
-
Or you simply strap a bomb to them and blow them up if they don't do their job.
-
In my semi-designed campaign which will probably never be I have these:
ISIS (Inter-Species Intelligence and Security, first two words may change) - basically like the CIA or MI5 in some sense, you could regard them a darker side to the GTVI.
Syndicates - various syndicates thrown throughout the not-so-populated zones.
TERM - media company that's in deep financial/government problems due to various "spills" that could result in swift expungement if there wasn't so much public information. Discredited heavily by everyone.

Well, they are not criminals per se, just about anyone who the people in charge don't like end as 'pilots'.

Not needed with this setup.....
Lets put it this way. Once the 'pilot' is in the cockpit, they never leave it, slaves to the Fleet, forever..........:shaking:

Well, in The Swarm War we have four factions:
Yun Federation: Democracy, lots of bureaucracy. Couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag yet somehow keep order in the Factional Alliance out on the Fringes of Known Space.
Taladir Empire: Demo-Monarchy (similar to the UK, but the monarchy actually has power). Shoots first and asks questions later. The largest Faction in the FA.
Arisa Star Empire: Despot-Monarchy (initially at least). "We come in peace, my what a stabbable back you have." (Again, initially. Gets nicer later on though! :D ) Medium sized, with reasonable tech.
Karran Imperium: Monarchy. If you do not bother them, they will not bother you without a very good reason. VERY high tech, but small area. Mess with the KI and you get HURT. BIG TIME. And that INCLUDES the GTVA/NTF/Shivans!! :D (Though they're not in the franchise, so such comparisons may not be drawn! :D )
