has anyone been in a car accident or wreck in their lives?
I was in one 4 years ago, in the passenger's seat, and my friend died, and i only got a few bruises, and then 2 years ago someone went into my mom and i was in the car, and today someone backed out into me :p
anyone? :)O

Your friend died and you post a ":p" smilie? Damn your cold....
-
This explains a lot.

an0n's analysis
Everyone is trying to kill Stealth.

[color=66ff00]I think the ":p" was to signify that the fault was not his Tiara.
Still, it's a fairly morbid topic methinks.

Ow, I understood that. I'm not saying he did it, I'm just saying its cold to post something like this with a ":p" next to it.

My uncle died of ass-cancer ;7.
-
Knock it off.
Anyway, I was rear-ended a few years back. My dad and I went to the hospital, but I was released pretty quick (it hurt a lot, but I didn't break anything).
-
WHat? Seriously. My uncle had lung cancer, but they cut it out, then he got ass-cancer and died ;).

[color=66ff00]Methinks from the evident trend that this thread is a bit too unsettling, or in some cases spammable to continue. It's not the kind of thing you make light of anyhow.

Yeah, an0n - my grandfather died of cancer. Normally your jokes are irritating but this touches a nerve.
Shut the **** up.
Cancer is no joke, I'm worried about my mum as it is because of the amount she smokes - don't even think of making light of this kinda thing.
Warning ends.
-
Though I wasn't the admin who closed this - I've reopened it since the topic is still alright, just don't play stupid with it. There won't be a second warning.

I had a couple of accidents, which truly sucked cuz they weren't my fault. I had a '95 VW Jetta III Vr6 (see the relation to my name?) that I had fixed up. It was so purdy and was running in the 14 seconds in the qtr mile. That car was my baby. On the way home from work one day I was heading westbound and some guy in a rusty old saab going eastbound decides to turn left into a shopping plaza w/out looking to see if anyone was coming. I slammed on the brakes and swerved right. The guy still managed to hit me right on the front left tire... And kept on hitting me til my car cleared. The entire left side of my car was dented, torn, and battered. I was lucky, though, cuz I was going like 70 when it happened. If I would've T-boned him, it would have been a lot worse.
Then, after being months in the body shop and dealing with the guys insurance, I finally got my baby back... Only to get into another accident a week later. Was on the way to work in the morning and an accident happens a few cars up ahead and traffic stops... except for the dumb ass behind me who wasn't looking. Hit me into the van infont of me (which hit the car in front of her) and wrecked the front. Insurance does a quote, which was under the total loss limit. But the car wasn't the same after that so I sold her :(
I'm still bitter to this day, and that was 4 years ago. :wtf:

no, i didn't post the ":p" right after i said my friend died... i said ":p" at the end of the sentence... namely:
...and today someone backed out into me :p
look at the context

Exactly. The fact that you can shift emotional gears that quickly is disturbing.
-
ok, back on topic (again)...
I've been in two accidents in my life. One was a head-on collision, totaled both cars involved, but both myself and the other driver came out with nothing worse than some bruises. Then last friday I too was backed into, though the damage to my car was not too bad. Some paint, a panel, and a light were pretty much taken out, but everything else is fine. Oh yeah, neither were my fault either

Yeah, well, let's just forget about it ;) To go on about it will only cause problems :p
Anywayz, I've been in 2 accidents myself. Both were minor though :)

I've never been injured in any kind of crash, but I managed to get injured on a school trip to the Lake District. If any of you have ever walked Cat Bells, or from Derwent Water to Watendlath, you will know what I mean.
There was rather a steep slope, with steps down it. However, these steps were slate, and it was raining, I had hired boots form teh school, and they had little grip on them. I slipped on the way town, spun round and gashed my leg on the edge of a slate. I bled quite heavily, and still have the scar. However, it was 6 hours. six hours before the school sought any proffessional medical attention.
BTW, I still walked Cat Bells in this condition, and was not troubled by it, while amny other with perfectly healthy legs found it a struggle.

The last accident I was in was sweet. I got rear-ended by some dip**** cabby who was ridding my ass. No injuries and my car was fine. His was totaled. Ahhh... justice:D
-
Kill the thread.
It's pointless and has no potential for growth or development.
-
that's the same way i feel about your pathetic life. go away. :p
yeah, only three wrecks in my life, (neither my fault), but what sucks is finding parts is really hard, cause my car's almost 24 years old :(
-
Most of the car accidents I've had I was in before I got my license. The way I see it, as soon as you can legally drive, it counts as a clean slate.
-
okay true story: my father, being a postal worker in australia (he rides a little bike all over the place delivering the mail etc)
broke his leg in a accident when he looked down for something on his bike he looked up and a parked car was right in front of him... later on a policeman showed up and fined him around $250 for inattentive driving... whilst he was on the ground with a injured leg..... that's what's meant by 'insult to injury'...
in retrospect, it's kinda funny.... he hit a parked car
oh yeah, my dad's alright....

I saw a speeding truck hit a police car today on an interstate exit. It was pretty cool, the entire front left of the car(including the wheel) was obliterated :) Strangely enough, the truck only had a nice sized dent on the door. The police, of course, were too stupid to move the cars out of the road(no one was badly hurt), and they left them their for 20 minutes or so while the interstate got severely backed up
-
i almost was stupid truck with a fuel barrel in back couldn't stop in time almost hit use but swereved down into the river. and it happened on the passager side (aka my side)

-
 you got ran over by a parked car. ;)
-
Never really been in any accidents, but then again it's a rare day when I go out anyway. :D
-
I rearended a gut about three/four years ago, it demolished my little hona (loved that car) his ford tourus had a dislocated mufler, and he is sueing me for $50,000, well I'll give him good luck getting it, hell he wouldn't be able to squieze $50 let alone tens of thousands of dolars
someone rearended me a few years after that, I got bout $2000 from his insurance company, I didn't even realy ask for it
-
he's suing you now? four years later? that's stupid.
-
It's America.:)
-
yeah i know, but that's just plain stupid. i thought there was a limit to how long till you couldn't sue.
-
two years, and he filed it at the last minute (presumably so I would forget details and contradict myself), it has been in the system for about as long
