I've just bought the new issue of UK PCGamer (June) and there is a SIXTEEN PAGE preview of Half-Life 2!
I cannot give anymore inforamtion as I two busy being amazed by it. I'm trying to find something on their website, but the site itself is hard enough to find.
This link (http://www.futurenet.co.uk/futureonline/magazines/issues.asp?id=34&div=) will have to do for now.

Has no one got anything to say?!?!
This is the greatest gaming event for five years!
PCG called it "The Only Game That Matters!"
-
Respond you heathens!
Do I have to spell it out?
HALF. LIFE. TWO.
RELEASING. THIS. NOVEMBER.
REAL. PHYSICS.
FIRE. CASTS. REAL. TIME. SHADOWS.
NPCS. EYES. TRACK. YOU. ROUND. THE. ROOM.
-

Hmm... Meh.
-
it will probobly run on my PC since everything but 3dmark03 does :p
-
PC Zone beat it to the punch, but its still a good piece of news!
-
The press embargo should expire in a few hours and you'll start to see previews on game sites.

Here's a few screenshots that slipped past the corporate blockade. They'll probably be gone in three.....two......

We have to wait five more months!!!!
I don't know if I can take the pressure......
OK, that's a lie, I can take it no problem, but yes - this is THE most important game of any genre for at least three years (Deus Ex was the last), and by far the most important FPS since the original. Pah, to think that a fortnight ago I was jumping up and down waiting for Doom 3.....

Right at this moment I'll admit that I'm really looking foward to Vice City for the P.C.
-
Meh, the hype will pass...
-
I can wait...I got Duke Nukem 3d and Shadow Warrior to hold me down for a while.(oldies, but goodies...AND FREEBIES TOO ;) )
Still...it'll be good, when it gets out...but I'll take Homeworld 2 over Half-life 2 anyday...

I hate games that won't let you play them unless you have nVidia...

*combusts*:eek2:

Looks rather impressive  If they can offer a good plot and unique gameplay I think I'll go after this. Those evil bugger things (not the headcrabs, the leggy things) look pretty "Starship Troopers" like for some reason. Makes you want to squish them with your foot.
http://www.gamespy.com/previews/may03/halflife2pc/06.jpg <-- wow.... just wow...
-
but you know i heard rumours that you must download Half-life2 from vivendis server
-
:wtf: that'd be insane. 56kers all over the world wouldn't buy the game, that'd be one of the worst marketing decisions in recent times. (seeing that HL2 is so anticipated)
-
16-PAGE???
*runs and steals $20 to buy PC Gamer from the nearest senior citizen* :eek2: :eek2:
-
PC gamer costs too damn much i'll wait till half life 2 comes.
-
I thought it was only like 8 bucks O_o
-
where i'm at PCgamer costs like 16bucks or 19.99 so i just wait for games to get to the stores.
-
It might be in the UK. I wouldn't know
-
maybe but i usually order it. not anymore though.

look at the "head" of the tripod:
I bet 2 seconds after the screenshot those guys dies a painful death :P
-
It looks a bit War of the Worlds.
BTW, ahev you read about that tripod thing?
it stomps down a street, and comes across a footbridge, and tries to smash it, it can't so it limbos under it. This is NOT SCRIPTED, it's all done by the AI!

[q]From the GameSpy preview
With all of these considerable graphical upgrades, we were pleased to hear that the minimum system specs are currently targeted at a 700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card, meaning you won't need a NASA supercomputer to run Half-Life 2.[/q]
Thank Heavens. I may be able to enjoy this thing.
-
minimum specs are always a joke :doubt:
-
damn Post Office, i,ve still not got mine, sometimes being a subscriber isnt all that good cos of the dumb idiots in the Postal Service.
-

Obviously you were bothered enough to post. Odd.
I can't wait, Doom 3 is kinda a non event for me now. Which is a shame because I'm really looking forward to that too.

Will HL2 be one of them? :blah:
-
To be hoped not.

considering that its being shown at the ATI booth I don't think its nVidia only:rolleyes:
-
Just to keep you interested, here's the new G-Man. Look at the reflections in his eyes!

Well, it is more brain-taxing than the vast majority of FPS's...

PCG thought he looked like David Bowie, in a mid 80's kinda way.

Bilbo you mean... that's Ian Holm.
But I'll agree with Petrarch.... it's a Bowie clone
