Title: Question for you modelers about sub systems.
Post by: WS-Thunder on December 06, 2001, 07:49:00 pm
Ok, is it possible in FS2 to develop a subsystem that replaces the ship model that it is on with a sub model of the same ship that shows up with green textures? Is it possible to make this texture active with a keypress? What about making a weapon that can do this?

I sincerely doubt that, but I had a funny idea. You know how there is the little bzzt when you hit shields? And then there is the little shield splash where the guns hit, and if that doesn't give you any ideas of fun things to do, then you are quite thick

I'm quite thick then. Making the ship having a black stain on it when you shoot at it? It won't make it invidible to you...

no, you could do funny things with the effect. Just think for a mod, you could have it be red when weapons hit it, or you could use it for a cartoon mod...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
