Something's off about it... there's no depth... probably the lighting, as in, there isn't any.
-
The explosions are good. I like the engine glows as well.
The starfield is a bit too dense IMO.
Also the three Aeolus are too much for a scene.
There was only a limited number ever produced according to the Tech Room. The one in the foreground doesn't look too good, you could delete it.
Apart from that it's good work.
-
there were 3 aeolisus escorting bastin in the mission :)
lights  it looks like its full ambient which is bad use spotlights
Beam  needs to be denser and brighter
Explosions well theyr pasted dont like those
engine glows pretty normal tone them down a little try using 2 lights on same spot gives a better glow :)
-
I'm using 3DE and Photoshop....I can't do lighting really. Does anybody know if you can move the lights in 3DE???

About Corsairs render:
I like it. It needs just a very little bit of work on lighting and it'll be perfect.
-
The second pic is AWESOME!
First one is good, but the explosions...
-
wohoa you really have to tell me how you did those beam lights going through ship ?
point lights and streaks tweaked?
-
Corsair, about that lighting thing..here is a render of an orion I just made. A sort of suggestion on how you may do lighting.

Doesn't mean that they are on the wrong place. If I did something different than usual doesn't mena it is wrong. :p I actually find it cool to have nice looking turrets, so shut up. :p

The one with vasudan and Shivans is mine. The first one is Corsairs. The Orion one is also mine, but you figured that I guess.

One thing for this render: make your entry and exit wounds different. Right now, they're nice, but indistinct :)
-
Good renders Corsair and Razor.

Geez man why do you make such a big deal out of it? Hey why don't you write the book about it. :doubt:

I see it now! W00t!
Yeah, it's very nice, but the perspective doesn't work... it looks like a small Orion and enormous Aeoluses :)

For Gods sake. Haven't you people heard of 3-Dimensional also called 3D? I had the same comment about my render. What do you think? That we are using MS Pain or something? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

pb is that it doesn't look 3D. they're right, there's no sense of depth there.

Now that's an expert talking.
Look here dude. If you take a better look at the picture, you will see that the turret on the Aelos cruiser (just below the engines) is completely visible. If it was where you think it is, it would intersect with the Orion and the turret wouldn't be visible. It's just a matter of examining the picture carefully, not looking at it for 1 second like you and most people do. For a 3d artist of your calliber, you should have noticed that.
-
no, that's exactly the point. the important is to have the feeling of depth, not to say "look, the turret is in front of the ship, therefore it's closer". when you do a render, the important is the whole feeling. details are here to help the feeling, they're not a end in themselves. to get a good depth feeling, it's mainly a work on lights. subtle variations that make all the difference.
