Maybe it's a kind of hidden message from the publisher, InfoGrames IIRC?  As kind of way of telling us he's coming back and he's bringing big, spiky, glowing red friends with claws and built in blasters?

maybe admiral bosch is the great great great ect. grandson of the owner of those companies. money can get you a very nice gov't position.
