HI all, n00b here!
I hate that, but reality bites when you need info!
How do you install most ship / weapon mods?
How many can you run at one time?
Do you have to install missions/campaigns that use these mods, or do mods to the standard fighters/ships affect the standard mission ships?
And finally, is there a FAQ available about mods, and how they are used?
Thanks all. I have done a search by the way, but nothing concrete came up.

If they are in a .VP archive format, just dump em in the main FS2 folder. If not, dump .POF files in the models folder, PCX's in the maps folder, TBLs in the tables folder, and ANIs in the interface folder. Of course you COULD just dump them all in the main FS folder anyway, but then cleaning them up when you want to disable the MOD can be a hassle. (That's why most MODs now are being made in VP form.)

If it's a campaign MOD, then one. If not, then learn to edit TBL's to splice some MODs together. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

It depends on which MOD you're installing. 99% of the time there are instructions that come along with it.

If there were, I would have linked you to it already. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Anyone ever read Schlock Mercenary ("http://www.schlockmercenary.com")? All I'll say is, read the story "Diplomatic Pouch of Doom". (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
