Title: Mysterious Cities Of Gold
Post by: diamondgeezer on May 15, 2003, 03:33:22 pm
By the gods, MCOG was a great show. I've got six episodes left to watch, and it's getting better by the minute. Discuss.

I kind of missed it when it aired here. I won't do it the next time, though. heard good things about it.

yeah, one of my favourite shows. you're being late tho, it's exactly 20 years old now :D
pyro-manic:
half french (cocorico :D ) half japanese anime series, happens in spain, south and central america during the conquistadors ( don't know the english word for that ) era. deals with the maya, aztecs and ( ;7 ) the olmecs.
an awesome plot, that mixes accurate history facts and... more exotic stuff :)

I remember when they found that city and the sun rose and it was gold, but then the sun moved through the sky and it was brick. That is all I remember. I liked it though.

Holy ****, someone else remembers this show?  I haven't seen it in ages.  Ah, the days of running home from school to watch it, I remember them fondly.

Wait, I rode the bus.  Oh well, I still had to go between the house and the bus stop, so all is good.

I have the tapes, and will probably have the dvd sooner or later.
but what version is the english one based one? the japanese version had really crappy musics compared to the french one...

I got the entire lot of Kazaa, AVIs of TV recordings. Didn't take too long.

Incidentally... the Golden Condor will fly in FS2. This I vow.

well, just listen to the musics, if they don't strike you with their wonderfulness, it's the japanese version :p (no, really, it's been the reason why the show didn't do well there, the musics didn't go along with the series at all, they used a completly different style, and that ruined it all ).
or get me an episode and I'll tell you :)

[color=66ff00]Let me guess: Metal with with 6 finger, only dogs can hear at this pitch, guitar solos?

Japanese love their metal + anime/manga.

Mysterious Cities of Gold:

BEST. ANIME. EVAR.

Seriously, MCoG is about the only thing that keep anime from totally going over the cliff into pointless stupidity. FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, that is.

lol no, just tasteless music

anyway:
http://www.citesdor.com/musiques/musiques_boub.php3

that's legal, so don't close the thread. the original soundtrack for the series has been "lost" ( it's most not true, but I'm not here to speak about that ), so there's no official complete soundtrack available for it. that guy, Boub, has made them all again with his piano and stuff. outstanding job should I add.
really, I recommend you d/l them all and give at least one try to the complete set.
