yeah, starlancer's good and all, but it doesn't quite have the same feel, as FS...

hmmmm.. *looks at game Collection*

IWAR/IWAR2

mechwarrior series

Heavy Gear 1/2

Crimson skies

hardwar...

Tachyon: The Fringe..(main char's voiced by bruce campbell)

I'm not much of a flight sim fanatic, i just noticed most of my games are either fps's, rts's or rpg's;)

And what think you of X?

Both my cousin and myself think it marvellous, as do many others, but PCG deemed it crap, as "it makes you work".

And know you of the God Hangar in HardWar?

Have you completed HardWar yet? I have, but only by cheating.

Have you got the latest patch for it? It gives you a new moth, access to the monorail, and about 4 new starting classes.

also, another reason that I like HW is that Software Refinery were based in LEEDS!

i have, but the dang thing took me longer than morrowind to complete....

as for the patch, well it's still on my old pc ATM.. i'm currently using my big bad athlon box. for work/photoshop and gaming...in which hardwar's not a part of...

if UT asked for any decent rpg's i would be able to give him a sizeable list:thepimp:

You'd be surprised how many people swear by it...

I tried it once but as D2 divided my throttle in two (for forward and reverse) I was plodding round the levels at half speed so I was forced to revert back to keyboard/mouse...

It's actually pretty cool playing it on the PPC, but it's as hard as hell to control.

Casio E-200 has a USB port, maybe you could hook up a joystick to it... :drevil:

Much better than a mouse, and more precise than a keyboard. Only thing that competes with joystick driving is an actual steering wheel, but I find the joystick easier, simply because there's less moving around to turn, brake, etc. ;)

That's how I play D3 most of the time - I map the joystick's hat to the sliding control - up, down, left, right - the joystick's throttle to forward and reverse, and the handle twist to barrel rolling. that leaves me with regular stick movements to control the orientation (duh), and a gazillion buttons! :p

I gotta finish that game sometime. :p

I played descent 1 and 2 ( that was a long time ago ) 100% with keyboard. for descent3, I just couldn't do that anymore, being used to the mouse keyboard scheme of FPS, so I tried it. couldn't do crap tho, so I played with the joystick. I've beaten two levels like that, then I've been fed up of bumping against every wall, so I've given a second chance to the keyboard/mouse combo. spend half an hour setting up the keys. Now I challenge anyone with a joystick to beat me.

Oh, and yeah, Crimson Skies just owns with a joystick! the game didn't get the fame it deserved anyway.

X takes way too long to get from place to place, and I got halfway done with the game, but couldn't save because no station in any sector at least 10 parts away from me wouldn't let me dock, so I gave it up.

I have:

IL-2 Sturmovik

Mechwarrior 4

Jane's WWII Fighters

IW2

Combat Flight Sim 2

Flight Sim 2002.

And I think that's it...any others, besides those? Back on track, please.

In what way does it not work?
Title: Good games for joysticks...

It launches, but every time I try to click on something, it minimizes to the desktop, and it starts flashing black until I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and shut down the prog.

How queer.

What version is it?
And what's your GFX card?

Dunno the version of the game, but I have an ATi 9000. BTW, is the game supposed to look really ugly, or do I have to change some settings in-game? I selected Direct 3D, but it looks pixelated as hell.

Don't you have the launcher, then? There should be all sorts of settings in that. It does look a bit pixelated, but only in the lower resolutions.

I played the demo of D3 with  a joystick, didn't know you could play using the mouse :wtf:
