A police cruiser for Shadow Play (my TC thingy that I'm working on alone). I still need to turret it, but liked it enough to show off to everybody. It would have some base textures applied to it, but TS screws the UV mapping up. Comments/Critiques...

Me likes. Are those one ship fighter bays on the bottom? You know, to hold people's ships when they are arrested?

Likes it, especially the Faustus-style engines.

Any idea of the size?

It's probably going to be about 2/3rds the size of the fenris (civillian equipment and all that) but be very fast. And the fighter idea is cool, it will probably be able to supply 4 atmospheric/space police fighters

I like it

Definately agree with the idea of having a docking bay :)

Use box(cube) UV mapping.
Then just select the texture and paint away.....

Depends on the version of TS you have. I've used TS2, 4, 5.1 and 6 so I know the series quite well and the UV mapping on 4 or below is awful. I've seen TS make a huge mess of UV mapping and then pressed a couple of buttons in TS5.1 and fixed it.

IIRC correctly you're using TS5.1 Trashman so you'll be seeing relatively good UV mapping.

Neato.  How many turrets is it going to have?

Analazon, with that sort of 'chunky' design you should be able to get away with using Lith, as there's no fins and stuff to get in the way!

Thats the thing tho, I'm using ts 4.2, and it seems to like to use box mapping as planar mapping if I do certain things to the model (sweeping outside of the original cube's z boundry does it every time...)

Turret number: probably something low, mebby 4 on the back, and about 6 on the main hull, and probably only one of them will be a multipart

And as for lith...I can't paint textures worth a damn...

Keep in mind that we have 14 years' worth of technology to cover. :)

But look at FS2 and all the extraships they don't necasarilly have :p

If there's one thing that bothered me, although it had to be done for game play's sake, is all the tech comming out in like a month for each game.

It seems in FS1 and FS2 they make more tech advances or starship advancements than they do in 10 years. Yea, war inspires and motivates people, but :wtf:

Just make sure things are logical (for example, let the mustang be old, as it gets replaced by the Apollo a while before FS1, no?) Old meaning fighters usually get at least 15 - 20 years give or take before they are completely replaced, right? )

Well when it was introduced it was a very advanced ship, and during the reconstruction there would be little need to develop new ships.
