I need a really cool Myrmidon picture for my website. Most of the ones I've seen are lacking some what. Any help would be much appreciated.;)
-
ask in the art forum
-
Can an admin please move this to the art forum?
Does it have to be JUST a Myrmidon? It'll be pretty boring if it's JUST a Myrmidon.
-
just a myrm or a myrm and a background?
i made something really bad, a screendump from modelview and a glitterato background, here it is:

IIRC, long ago I made some ModelView screendump art, but the site I uploaded it to hasn't been updated in at least 8 months!
I'll give it a try.

You might have to copy and paste, as it is a crap host.

Particles, Motion Blur and Fog doo-hickeys would be my guess.

Let's see here.... IIRC, a sphere gizmo, A dense sphere, particles, Omnilight, Mblur, glows...
There's a tutorial out there somewhere.
-
what program?
(i only know PSP, so i geuss i won't be able to recreate it)
-
IIRC the tutorial is on scifi-meshes.com.
-
Hm... I haven't rendered anything in weeks. What do you think of this?

No more PNGs!! They're waaaay too big, and you don't need perfect picture quality for this kind of stuff, anyway!
-
jpegs are good for most things anyway...
-
Indeed. But they also boost a better quality than BMP.

:wtf:
That's like saying that an ADPCM WAV file (or a 320kbps MP3 for you non-purists) has better quality than the Redbook audio CD it was ripped from. Quality-wise, PNG is a lossless format (unless you opt for the 8-bit / 128 color version, which is GIF-like), which means it doesn't have a degraded image quality like JPG does. The only semi-quality related advantage PNG has over BMP is the 8-bit alpha channel, which allows for full and partial transparency. THe fact that most browsers today don't fully support PNG's alpha channel completely is another story.
