Title: LODS and Trueview
Post by: Assassin on May 22, 2003, 12:31:41 pm
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could simply post a pictures of a capital ship of theres in TrueSpace, with a picture of Trueview open. Make sure your capital ship has several LODS and debris also, I need to see an example picture to set me in the right path of adding LODs to my model.

Thanks. :)

I find making lods pretty easy but time consuming. All you need to do is make a simpler version of your ship, glue a light to it and call it Detail1.
Repeat for LODs 2 and 3 with less polys each time (3 should be a shape with only 10-20 polys max)

As for the hierarchy check my FAQ's modding section for either IP Andrews or Bobboau's tutorials.

My ship creation guide might not feature much useful, but it does feature exactly what you're asking for.

Check out my manual.  If you want to MAKE LODs, you must learn to use the welding tool and vertices manipulation.
