Title: Pyrotechnics
Post by: diamondgeezer on May 25, 2003, 04:29:28 pm
My housemates and I have had a most productive day. We sat outside our house drinking Special Brew before flagging down an icecream van (http://www.angelfire.com/magic/diamondgeezer/Mr_Tony.JPG), then proceeded to chop down a large bush and set fire to the remains. Here be the videos of the conflagaration:

Fire the first (http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/magic/diamondgeezer/DSCI0001.AVI)
Fire the second (http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/magic/diamondgeezer/DSCI0002.AVI)
Fire the third (http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/magic/diamondgeezer/DSCI0005.AVI)

Beware, there are rude words in there... mainly as a result of people getting burned :) The cast includes Big Gay Mike (the hairy topless dude on the left), Spuff (the dude on the right) and my good self (the dude in the blue with the can of kerosine).

Lastly, here's a bonus feature - our friend Matt's Mini (http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/magic/diamondgeezer/DSCI0010.AVI)

We am win!

And you think there is any way in hell I'm playing the movie after reading that?

I can only see the pic with Mr Tonys but Fire 1, 2, 3 and Mini links seem to be busted.

Reminds me of when a mate set his arms on fire trying to do a similar thing.
Except he set himself on fire intentionally.

He is.

He wrapped in arms in foil or cling film (I wasn't there at the time so i dont know), doused them in lighter fuel and set light to them!

He was out of school for a month!

You drink Special Brew. I know you're a student but c'mon, you might as well drink Meths because to be fairly honest it has the same effect, is slightly cheaper and tastes a damn sight better than bloody Special Brew.

Special Brew for anyone requiring clarification is extra strength lager and is akin to drinking a sulphuric acid and **** combination with pretty much the same effects.

Good stuff if you fill half a barrel with it, makes a big boom. He recored it from his house roof. You can actualy see a rather nice shockwave. I don't think he has the tape anymore though:(

Make some thermite. I might make some thermite actually. I know some people who I don't like who happen to like the engine blocks on their cars very much.

Thermite? Are you mad? it'll go right through the bloody road!

That's a good thing.

What's the recipe for thermite, again? I'm resorting to buying the stuff, I haven't taken chemistry in years and my skill at chemical flashbombs is limited to the gasoline and gunpowder types.

Ah guys... I didn't think I'd ever have to mention it as a fubar topic but this is not a militia forum in the generic sense of the word. If you want to talk about the specifics of making bombs then do it in your own time please.... I don't think it's a good idea to discuss it over the net and lets face it, any of you who are really interested can find something about it by searching Google...

Here's the inside work, clockwise from the top left:

1) Rolling plastic explosives into balls to be stuffed into...
2) ...the centers of the old AT mines we nailed to the walls.
3) Taking down the antenna
4) Da Brute Squad

:p Second from the right. The second person to my left is Adi Avitan, one of the soldiers kidnapped by the Hezbollah in late 2000.

[color=66ff00]I know a lot of you are fairly ingenious when it comes to troublemaking so I'll post something you might need to know:

99% of the stuff related to this area of 'recreation' on the net is either an industrial process carried out under the strictest conditions, or some idiot who heard a recipe from another idiot that either doesn't work, or that works so well it'll kill you. Hate to sound like the voice of reason considering the stuff I used to mess with but this stuff can and will go wrong.
Play with slow burning powders if you have to, anything more is simply overkill and if you aren't aware of what I'm talking about when I refer to slow burning powder, then stop now, and go buy some fireworks, they're a lot safer and they pop in bright sparkly colours. Bliss. :D

Also, tennis ball bombs DON'T WORK!

I tried it with a few mates, it just split and spilled the matchheads everywhere.

thermite is fairly easy to make, and is made under most chemistry courses as a demonstration at least, just like putting fire on magnesium is.

I'm sure they do, but I don't intent to try it.
I've given up with explosives now, moving on to more intricate, and subtle, methods of mischief.;7

Maeg: Which is why I have a three-foot deep trench in my backyard for hiding under when I blow up really big stuff. And also why I didn't Google it- most of the explosive-makers I've seen online are apparently brain-damaged from exposure to gasoline fumes, and wouldn't know high-grade Semtex from 10W-40.

Also, I've made my share of kabooms under the tutelage of various guerilla warfare guides, so don't patronize. Granted, they're mostly gasoline-based (molotov mortars and the like), but still...
