Know fear! :D
Seriously, the WA Driving laws are bull****. You need to sit a written test, then do a practical test, then you need to get 25 hours supervised driving recorded in a logbook, then you do another test, some computerized Hazard Perception test thingo. But, I'm now about 5 months older and 100 bucks poorer, but I'm legally allowed to drive anywhere in Australia! Yay for me!
-
Anywhere? Even in the sea?:D
Anyway, good luck driving, and try not to kill too many creatures/old people/government officials on the roads.
-
Well, if I had one of those aqua car/boaty boat things, thn yes, I probably could drive on the sea. And I'm a hopeless softie - I swerve for the old people :D

Humor. (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=humor)
Anyway. I hate driving. And cars. Except really really cool ones, like the aforementioned amphibious trucks and Bradleys.

a lot of people that don't have a car and/or don't have a license and/or can't drive say they don't like driving... it's typical...
yeah, i got my license when i turned 16, but i'd been driving with a permit since i was 15
-
I haven't bothered to learn driving yet as I hardly ever go out anyway, but I will probably need to do so sometime before I go to college. Later on I will be getting a truck so I might as well obtain that CDL thing as well.

Stealth: The rub is, that's normally in the sort of places commonly referred to as "places where not everyone on the road seems to think they're in a GTA game". In recent memory, I've been clipped by two of those gigantic pickup trucks and gotten out of the way of what could only be described as an attempt at vehicular assault at least half a dozen times. I am not joking, if you're wearing anything less than a Suburban out here you're fucking dead.
And that probably goes a long way to explaining why I hate drivers and cars.

point taken :) ;)
Yeah, i apologize, usually when people say they "hate driving" they've never driven/can't afford a car/don't have a license :)

I have one thing to say...
Those poor other motorists

Around.

Then you should know CP can't stand sunlight. And only solves math problems.
-
It's very rare that I go out, as I only have to come back in.
It's like The Prisoner, whenever I leave my house, I find myself back there by the end of the day. Some pedants might say it's because I live there, but I don't believe them.

simple: don't take Drivers Ed period...
that's what i did when i was *counts on fingers* 15... you go to the DPS (Department of Public Safety... that's in Texas, i don't know what the other states call it, probably the same thing) and ask for the package where you do it from home. it costs like $22.00 and you have to spend like a minimum of 6 hours, which is nothing, because with all the stuff you have to do (driving, hands on experience) it takes like 10 hours. i did mine in 2 weeks (the minimum) and you send it back in and then they send you your permit! then when you're 16 you go to the DPS, take a 2 minute test, and get a license. simple.

They call it the DMV. And I don't think you can do that here, or somebody would have mentioned it by now.
Only choices are drivers school or 0 period, which could possibly work out because my friend is taking 0 period jazz band and I could carpool with him, as much of a ***** as that is. At least its only half a semester.

you may want to go there and ask... that's what i did.
don't they have it after school? i think it's like a 3 week class here
-
Well I guess I could call or ask around...
certainly would be interesting if they did.
-
yeah, at school they told me that Drivers Education was the only way to go, so to spite them i went to the DPS and they told me about the alternative. the only BETTER thing about drivers ed, is if you do it through them, you get the permit, but then to get a license you DON"T have to take the test... when you turn 16, you just go and get one. if you do it the private way you have to take the "drivers license" test, but it's like 2 minutes, and it's common sense, like "if you arrive at a stop sign and someone on the opposite side arrives first, who gets to cross the street first?"... and it's got a picture and everything... pathetic, but i made a 100% on it, and the whole procedure took like 2 and a half minutes *shrugs*...
i'm sure they have to have an alternative to drivers education, cause a lot of people don't go to school (public)... they do home-schooling and stuff.
