Just an idea I had a while ago.
In the FS2 main campaign you are always Alpha 1.
I think for the story of some campaigns it would be useful if you could be part of another wing. For example Beta 2 or Delta 4.
What do you think?
-
AFAIK you can already do this.
-
Indeed you can. Though you can't alter your loadout if you're not in Alpha, Beta or Gamma. Which blows. Code fix, please!
-
Ahh, that would be useful then.
Like in the X Wing games you can be any pilot in any wing. Green 2, Gamma 3 etc.
-
To fly as someone besides Alpha 1:
1) Change the mission type to multiplayer in the Mission Specs editor.
2) In the Ships editor, select the fighter you want the player to fly (Beta 3, for example). Click on the checkbox marked Player Start to make it a player flyable ship.
3) Still in the Ships editor, turn the Player Start option off for Alpha 1.
4) Go back to the Mission Specs editor and set it back to single player mode.

You can already do this? Ohh...
Thanks, guys! :)
