Not bad! It'd be that bit more impressive if you had glows on the Sathani, the red parts of them I mean..but a good job :yes:

Are not everything. Right now they just look partially lit. You have to make a glowmap.

I'd guess FT is using Truespace - as do i - who can you get glow maps to work in it?

I thought it was pretty good at the beginning, actually.  Gave the Sathanas a dark and interesting look.  Only thing I noticed is on the planet, towards the lower right, it looks like a mountain is coming out of the atmosphere.

Try just adding in the glows on a new layer in PSP, simple but effective.  Also, re-apply the solarcell effect over the finished image - set it on a new layer so you can control opacity, etc. Such as here:
