Title: .wav?
Post by: Deathstorm V2 on June 06, 2003, 07:58:23 am
Can anyone recommend a program/technique that can convert an MP3 file into a WAV format?  I found something I'd like to try as mainhall stuff, but FS2 won't run it.

GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/) will do it AFAIK and since that is also the program you would use for making vasudan voices you could find another use for it later :)

IIRC Goldwave needs a plugin to be able to work with mp3s, though.

Why did no on tell me there was a new version?
Here I am using 4.26 like a silly bugger, and there's a version 5 to be had!

If you read the instructions on the GoldWave 4.x download page, you will see a link to Razor LAME. Download LAME and install it - instand MP3 encoding. Hoo-rah!

I've got version 5 now, and it rules!
Nice new visualisations, more advanced effects and what not. It's getting more like SoundForge all the time!

They've made the selection system a bit more awkward, though.

The one that used to be called db audio convertor is quite good.
