Title: Dark's Planet model
Post by: Woolie Wool on June 08, 2003, 02:49:19 pm
I'm trying to put in a "bad" ending to my campaign where a Sathanas enters the Sol system and blows Earth up. I downloaded a 32km wide planet model with Earth textures and put it in the mission. When I tried to save, FRED2 fall down go boom. Always. Even if I leave the Sath out. Any ideas on how to actually use this model and save a mission?

umm...I think you need a fs2 version of the .pof. Do you have that?

If you do and it still doesn't work, try replacing the planet model with something else and saving. Then open the mission file in a text editor and manually change it back to the planet.

If there is an FS2 version of the Earth model, how do you get it?

More importantly, if this is an FS1 version I'm using, how do I make it FS2-compatible?

only thing I know of that can convert from FS1 to FS2 format is the old Freespace Mission Manager's POF editor.

Open the model with that, then save, then select FS2 format.
