Title: Zelda
Post by: diamondgeezer on June 09, 2003, 01:14:14 am
Decided to but a GameCube and Zelda bundle instead of paying my rent. All I can say is wow. Put simply, it's staggeringly beautiful. Even my die-hard PlayStation fan housemate and my consoles-are-for-kids housemate had their jaws on the floor. Hurrah for Ninty!

Yea, I played it at my friends house. I didn't think I'd like the new 'style' of graphics much, but it was pretty sweet. I got up to the part where you leave on the pirate ship with the chick, and oddly enough, I set down the controller on the bed for some reason, knocked it off, and the controller landed on the reset button.

Damn gamecube and its ghey uber huge buttons....

You a diehard zelda fan, or just Gamecube? (goes for everyone)

Meh.  Zaxxon (http://www.kinetic-arts.co.uk/jamma/zaxxon/zaxxon.htm).  Endless fun, that was.  Played it on an Atari 2600, I believe.   I was maybe 3 the first time, and kept playing it until the house burnt down when I was 6. Astroblast (http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/p,28/gameId,9120/) was fun too.

Link,
he come to town
Come to save the Princess Zelda
Ganon took her away
Now the children don't play
But they will when Link saves the day
Hallelujah!

Now Link, fill up your hearts
So you can shoot your sword with power
And when you're feeling all down
The fairy will come around
So you'll be brave, and not a sissy coward

Now Link has saved the day
Put Ganon in his grave
So now Zelda is free
And now our hero shall be
Link! I think your name shall go down into history!

Its unfortunate that the Gamecube has been pushed mostly out of the running, its better than a PS2, but not as good as a Xbox.

Except they never. Look it up.

Speaking of Gamecubes however, I finally got around to getting one on friday. I bought Pikmin and Rogue Squadron 2 instead of buying Zelda like I was going to.

Pikmin is the crack/heroin hybrid of computer games. Good job it can be finished in twelve hours because I could devote the rest of my entire life to this game.

Meh, GC may be better performance wise, but thats all because the GC has had 20 months longer development time :doubt: And still its doing worse then the PS2.

Gamecube is the best system... not because of performance, but because of the games.  The other systems games, mainly X-Boxes, suck total ASS.  There are at least 15-20 games on gamecube that are totally awesome, and only 1 on X-Box, HALO...  PS2, don't even talk about it, it sucks period....

Why are you all arguing over which console is best, when PCs can beat them all hands down?:D

[color=66ff00]That's a stupid point of view 'the platform is more important than the game'.

Personally I have, and still very much enjoy my Dreamcast. It has a far better lineup than either the PSone/2 or the Xbox. Only sega with their monkeyball and nintendo with the utterly ingenious Shigeru Myamoto's pikmin, mario and zelda really do anything for the gamecube in my view. People diss it and ignore it because it looks like it was designed for kids but it's currently where all the consloe gaming innovation is at.

Also I don't have to upgrade the damn thing every year just to play the newest games.

If only Xbox had more quality games eh? So as it stands there's more value in a PS2 (best value, tons of games) or Gamecube (high quality games). Of course you can also mod the Xbox to dual as PC/console but I'm only thinking of stock capability.

BTW:according to my relatively modern Famitsu stats, the software selling percentage (for japan) is like this:
PS2 59.6
GBA 24
with other consoles getting little to no showing..

Hardware selling:
PS2 44398
GC 13362
GBA 31128
Xbox 2130
