Title: good cheap hosting

Anyone recommend a good paid hosting service?

I'd like these features:
-MySQL
-PHP 3 or 4
-FTP upload
-10MB+ space
-Large or no transfer limits
-Good Tech support
Not needed but would be nice:
-SSL
-Domain hosting
-POP3 and SMTP mail

I'm looking at around $10/month, but I can go higher :)

I would highly recommend 250Free's StraightForward Hosting, but it may take them a while to finish up repairs and maintainance...

Is that for everyone or just the Premium Accounts?

Well I'll get me a Premium Account when you get MySQL and PHP then. How much will it cost?

The only difference between the regular and Premium accounts is that on the Premium you don't have the SMERSH wiretap.;)

hmm, could I get switched over then? and if they are both free, then I guess I won't be needing a paid host.

PEON and PREMIUM accounts have SQL and PHP access... the ONLY difference between the peon and premium accounts is the size of the accounts, and the folders within the server they can access.

a lot of people think only PREMIUM accounts have PHP and SQL rights, because PEON don't have these rights at the moment, but they don't realize that PREMIUM don't either, because PHP isn't working, and SQL isn't installed yet.

PREMIUM accounts aren't for anyone of the public... there's few and limited premium accounts, only for very close friends.

I upgraded to a package with like 700mb more space, 30Gb more bandwidth, an extra MySQL database, 600 more POP3's and 24 more FTP accounts and they had it all setup within an hour of me placing my request. And this was at like 11pm. And they're in my time-zone.

You can get a whole server for £29/month (with sucky bandwidth mind. That's why I'm sticking with the hosted package).

And if they change their prices and whatnot, they let you keep your existing contract and terms for as long as you want. I had an account-type they'd deleted from their new-customer options for like 8 months after they killed it.

They kick some serious ass.

i just put PEON and PREMIUM in capitals so they stand out :D ;) and don't get offended if you don't get a premium, cause we only have like a dozen premiums, and we stopped giving premiums to our friends about 2 months ago :)

yeah, PHP does work... thought it did, it's just SQL that's giving a problem
