Title: FRED is doing wierd stuff

I just recently decided to start messing around with Fred again,and I'm getting some very wierd stuff

1. The position of the ships in FREd and in the misison is not equal. For example, the rest of my wing is clearly marked as starting the misison infront of me, but when the mission starrts they are behind me. Same goes for capital ships position/direction

2. The time elapsed is showing as 2:20 right when I first start the mission

3. I have the mission starting with an Orion attacking an Arcadia. Just when the mission loads, The Arcadia is at like 45%, even though its at 100% in FRED. I even got an instance when it exploded immediatly after tharting the mission

4. Changing simple things, like beem-free-all SEXPS chganges the postions and direction of ships

5. How do I send messages. I tried the time-has-elapsed SEXP, but the send-message SEXP is still nor available

Well, half your problems can be remedied by manually setting the player entry data to either 1 or 0.

by loading the .fsm file with notepad and looking for "player entry delay".

I think all of these problems are origination from a poorly made MOD. Delete it and these problems should sort themselves out.

This problem occours when you've got a dodgy table or something somwwhere. For example, if you have more than 130 entries in your ships table. Instead of saving stuff properly, FRED will take random numbers from the rubbish lurking in your memory and stick them in to your mission.

Try using the latest SCP release.

What they said. Or you can just go into FRED, and change and save it. It's under Team Loadout.

The problem with doing that is that more often than not FRED will change it back when you save.

yea, but I usually just keep doing it until fred gives up. He's really tempermental.

thin out your shiplist, if its FS2, get rid of spacehunk and the like, FS1, all the ST ships... wingmen always will start behind you, or at least try to, so after the 223 second delay, they have formed on your wing, or you're dead... If its FS1, you've got a prob... player delay isn't in the notepad version...
