Hmmm. Fattonys.com and GenocidalMonkey.com are down too.

So it's not the forums that've ****ed. Looks like the whole place has gone up in flames.

Bastards.

I'll see if my FTP still works.

Nope. FTP's gone too.

Hmm. They'd better fix the ****er. I had over 300mb of crap on there (consisting of 150mb of irreplacable pics).

you DID back up NW after starting the beta, did you?

you did, right?

please tell me you did.

on the other hand, making backups is a thing you never have to tell anyone, they'll learn themselves.

My last backup is the 20 something'th of May.

So basically, yer screwed if it doesn't come back on.

I'm not too worried. Generally when this **** happens it's because they installed something new on the server, rebooted and forgot to stop something returning to its default value.

Ah. Methinks they've switched servers or something. The Error message is in German. Now, my hosty-people run German servers, but they usually have English errorDocuments, so they HAVE been screwing with stuff and bodged it back to it's default.

If it's not up in an hour I'll blitz the tech-support with hate-mail.

Doesn't a 400 mean the nameserver is screwed or something?

As I recall they automatically back-up the MySQL on their own nightly, incase of a catastrophic system crash.

So, if it's dead, I should just be able to ask them to send me their back-up.

****! Tiara was right.

The credit-card I was using to pay for my stuff musta expired or ran over its limit or something.

This will be rectified.

Delete the thread.

Entirely not my fault ( :ha: ).

I updated the card-info a while back when they e-mailed me about the charges being rejected by the card company. I changed all the **** but I never got around to e-mailing the Billing department telling them I'd done it.

Yeah and technically, I was the McVeigh's accompli.......eer........Forget that. Y' di'n't hea' nuthin'.

It's not my credit-card anyway, so I cannot be held responsible for ensuring it hasn't expired.

site design, pretty nice,

buttons on the left look kinda cheap, the autorefferer should be less then 5 secs and an "WTF is this about" page would be nice.

duh, an0n, source of income, what do you think?
Title: uhm, NW guys?
Post by: an0n on June 13, 2003, 11:49:24 am
It's still got a lot of the default crap in it and I'll be changing that over the weekend.

I'm doing it for my father and uncle. My uncle is part of this time-share company (you know, those things where you own a house for 6 weeks a year) and he decided he'd get more business if his associates could advertise their wares to the populous. So he tasked me and my dad with making him such a site. We cut some corners and bought one, or more specifically, we bought a $500 piece of ad-software.

Theoretically, we charge people extortionate amounts of money to advertise their various time-share properties and I get a 5% cut (after expenses :doubt: ).

And, as you can see, NW is back up.

Something is just a little disconcerning here.... you guys are yelling at an0n, yet he's hosting Nodewars for FREE for you guys. He can do what he wants with it when he wants. If you guys want reliable backups and the like, host it yourself. You can't complain about free service, I'm sorry. :blah:

Not to mention paying for the boards and giving people e-mails and FTP accounts.
